Paul... Huynh I Speak

I’m Paul Huynh and this channel is my love letter in progress — to my mom, my language, and my roots.

I was born in the U.S. to Vietnamese war refugees. My mom’s sacrifices made it possible for me to initially grow up in public housing, attend world-class universities, work at Google, and lead in spaces of social impact. Yet despite all that, I’ve never been fully fluent in Vietnamese — never able to express my gratitude and love for her in her own language.

That’s why I relocated to Vietnam. For the next six months (maybe longer), I’ll be documenting my journey to reconnect with culture, reclaim voice, and learn to speak the words I’ve always carried in my heart. Expect raw diary entries, stumbles and laughter, and reflections on identity, family, and belonging.

This isn’t about perfection or performance. It’s about truth, voice, and connection. Every word brings us closer. Huynh I Speak.
