Turing with Tia

Host Tia Creighton interviews AI chatbots about a variety of society's most pressing issues.

Q. Is "turing" a typo?
A. No. Turing is in reference to Alan Turing, an early computer scientist, who in 1950 established a method which gained popularity for testing whether any machine was capable of true intelligence. If a person sitting across from a hidden machine could engage it in conversation and not tell whether it was a machine at all, that machine was said to have passed the "Turing test." Turing was also instrumental in cracking/deciphering Germany's Enigma code in WWII.
