Schola Cantorum of Syracuse

Schola Cantorum of Syracuse, a professional 12-voice a capella chamber choir, has been performing early music in and for Central New York since 1975. Their repertoire is classical music in the European tradition from the Medieval, Renaissance and early Baroque eras, including works of Mauchaut, Ockeghem, Du Fay, Lasso, Josquin, Tallis, and William Byrd.  Each year Schola Cantorum presents three or more vocal ensemble concerts as well as additional concerts by smaller ensembles. Each summer Schola conducts a four-day Summer Workshop, at which amateur singers and instrumentalists perform early music repertoire and develop the performance skills peculiar to early music.
