Just want to thank you for making me have a Lambert Hendricks and Ross Day. Their album The Hottest New Group in Jazz was the sound track to my heavily jazz oriented teen years back in the 60s.

My parents' birthday present to me was a 2-week trip to the Big Apple from my hometown of Louisville. I saw just about all my jazz heroes then and I at Basin Street East in NYC when Lambert Hendricks and (then) Bavan recorded their live album there, and I was able to sing along with just about every tune.

As a coda, Yolande Bavan invited me and my two best friends who were with me on the trip to her apartment in the Village for ice cream.
