C orey Jarrel was born in Hartford, Connecticut. Singing was the first thing he really knew how to do. He also began singing and performing at a very young age. He started out singing in the same church youth choir where Brandon and Brian Casey of famed R&B group Jagged Edge were members. While still in high school Corey began to pursue music on semi-professional level, traveling and singing in various groups. He also participates as a member of the youth choir, step team, varsity basketball team and also plays the bass at First Church of God in Columbus, Ohio where Bishop Timothy J. Clark Is the Pastor. Corey is an extremely versatile young man who has many talents that he has discovered such as music, athletics and dancing. In 1999 Corey also expressed to his Uncle Yasha Barjona who is CEO of Y3K Music Entertainment that he was ready to pursue his music and later on became a member of Heart Fixa. Corey has also been able to share the studio with fame R&B singer Freddie Jackson and has sang on projects with many artists.. If Corey were given the opportunity to thank the artists that have inspired him, he would thank Boyz II Men, Commissioned, Tonex.. and his cousin Doobie Powell, R&B singer Joe, Musiq Soulchild, Mario, Tyrese, Jonathan Dunn, J. Moss, Smokie Norful, Karen Clark-Sheard, and Kim Burrell.
