The video effectively conveys the troubling situation faced by every citizen of Venezuela who values individual rights and democracy.
The Caracas Nine program humanizes the current struggle against political persecution while providing an opportunity to assist survivors of human rights abuses. The nine cases are by no means an exhaustive number, but they are emblematic of the current political and social climate in Venezuela.

Este video refleja claramente el clima de hostilidad y el estado de urgencia que enfrentan los venezolanos defensores de la democracia y la libertad.
El proyecto sobre los Caracas Nine pretende humanizar esta lucha contra la persecución política ofreciendo a su vez un espacio de ayuda y protección para quienes padecen y sobreviven a las violaciones de los derechos humanos. Los nueve casos aquí presentados no son de manera alguna un número completo y exhaustivo de los perseguidos políticos en Venezuela, sino más bien un modesto pero significativo reflejo de los más diversos sectores de la sociedad que padecen los atropellos del régimen en sus diferentes grados (militares, periodistas, estudiantes, jueces, artistas y ciudadanos comunes). Con el gobierno del Presidente Hugo Chávez se ha registrado el más elevado número de discriminación política en la historia de Venezuela. Son cada día creciente los elevados índices de violaciones a los derechos humanos, incluyendo casos suficientemente documentados de tortura. Se han registrado más de doscientos casos de arresto indebido, detención arbitraria y múltiples agresiones físicas y verbales a quienes disienten públicamente, haciendo ejercicio de su derecho a manifestar de manera pacífica. Los Caracas Nine representan nueve casos emblemáticos de la tendencia política del gobierno venezolano actual.

He speaks of RCTV as a channel that has damaged society and warns of destabilization against his government. He states that he is planning a counterattack and calls on the people, governors, mayors, intelligence services, defense ministry, and military intelligence to mobilize and neutralize any act of destabilization. Any aggression, he states, must be used by the revolution to accelerate and deepen changes.
