If there was one thing I would love to change about the Warhammer 40k universe, it would be the physical manifestation of daemons. In my opinion, daemons should have remained as an "psychological" influence. In my opinion, Chaos should have been a parallel mirror to both the Imperial Guard and the Space Marines. Chaos should be portrayed more like the orks are portrayed--they should be totally oblivious to the fact that they are indeed being controlled by the powers of chaos and instead they believe that their ability to succeed is based on their own personal choices. Indeed, that would be the ultimate daemonic deception--to make those within the Imperium believe that they didn't need the emperor, but what the needed most was to trust in themselves in order to suceed. Thus, they are truly mad because they have forsaken the one true God-emperor who birthed the mighty Space Marines--the faction which, in my opinion, is the most powerful within the entire Warhammer 40k universe. A great ending, if one would end the magnificent storyline to the Warhammer 40k universe, would be the ressurection of the God-Emperor who would then bestow his spirit upon his beloved sons--a spirit that would unify them and grant them the power to ultimately overcome all their enemies.
