Claudia didn't know what else to do then call the police. So she did.
Cynthia was driving, trying to take her mind off things, but she couldn't. A frown wiped over her face. She turned the car around and went back to the dock.
Cynthia: What have I done...
She stepped onto the small boat and sat at the romantic table set for 2. She took out her phone and stared at it for a while. It started ringing and she picked it up immediately.
Cynthia: Hello?
?: Are you Nick's girlfriend?
The voice was muffled and deep. Cynthia looked at the ID. It said Nick but this definitely wasn't him.
Cynthia: Um... yeah. Who's this?
?: Come to 500 Lincoln Ave. Bring $10,000 in one hour or your boyfriend dies.
Cynthia: WHAT?! WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH NICK?!
The person hung up. Cynthia closed her cell phone and called Kevin.
Kevin: Hey, Cynth. What's up?
Cynthia: I NEED $10,000.
Kevin: WHAT? Why?
Cynthia: No time to explain. Just meet me at 500 Lincoln Avenue.
Kevin: But where am I going to get $10,000???
Cynthia: You have a bank, don't you?
Kevin: Yeah. But my dad is never going to let me take out that much money for no reason.
Cynthia: IT'S NOT FOR NO REASON. NICK'S LIFE IS ON THE LINE.
Kevin: What do you mean?
Cynthia: He's going to die! That's what I mean! Now stop talking! We have less than an hour.
Cynthia hung up the phone and ran to her car. It wouldn't start up. She opened up the hood. Someone had cut a lot of wires.
Cynthia: Crap.
Police cars came speeding down the road, past Cynthia. They were headed for the hotel.
Cynthia: What else can go wrong?!
She took a cab and drove to Lincoln Street. 30 minutes until Nick died. Kevin came 5 minutes later with a suitcase.
Cynthia: Do you have the money?
Kevin: Um, not exactly...
Joe and Jaime were leaving the hospital to get some rest. They got into the car.
Jaime: Where do you think Kevin went?
Joe: I don't know. But he was really antsy when he said he had to go do something.
Jaime: I hope everything is alright...
Joe: Yeah. Let's hope.
Soon, they pulled up to the hotel. It was surrounded by police cars, media, and a huge crowd. They got out and tapped a police man on the shoulder.
Joe: What happened?
Policeman: There was a kidnapping.
Joe: Who's-
He saw Claudia talking to another police man, holding back tears. Joe knew exactly who was gone.

Jaime stood up and walked out to find a doctor. Debra fingered with some wires and sighed heavily. Meanwhile, Cynthia arrived at the dock and saw Maddy.
Cynthia: Hey, is everything set up?
Maddy: Yup. Tell me how it goes, kay?
Cynthia: Okay. See you later.
They hugged and Maddy left. A couple minutes later, Nick arrived with Claudia.
Cynthia: Who's this?
Claudia: Hi. I'm Claudia. You must be Cynthia.
They shook hands.
Cynthia: Yeah. But-
Nick: Cynthia, this is my friend. And I really need to tell you something.
Cynthia: I need to tell you something, too.
Nick: But I REALLY need to get this off my chest.
Cynthia: Me, too. So if I could just-
Claudia: OKAY, guys. Enough. Say it on 3. 1, 2, 3-
[at the same time]
Nick: I cheated on you with Claudia.
Cynthia: I kissed your brother, Kevin.
They stared at each other, speechless.
Claudia: Uh-oh...
Nick&Cynthia: .......WHAT?!
Cynthia: You know what? I think I change my mind.
Cynthia started walking away but Nick yelled after her.
Nick: So you can be mad at me but I can't?!
She continued walking and didn't look back.
Cynthia: Who said that?
Cynthia got into her car and drove away.
Nick: What the- I'm going to get Kevin..
Claudia: I don't think that's a very good idea...
Nick: No, it's a great idea. Let's go.
Nick grabbed Claudia's hand and dragged her with him to the hotel. They got there but everyone was gone.
Nick: Where are they?
Claudia: I don't know.. but I'm getting this feeling in my stomach that something bad is going to or has happened.
The lights in the whole hotel went out. You could hear people screaming and a sinister laugh.
Claudia: NICK! WHERE ARE YOU?
Nick: I'm right here. Don't worry.
Claudia: What's happening?
Nick: I don't know but-
Claudia: Nick? NICK! WHERE'D YOU GO?!
She groped around the dark lobby but couldn't find him. The lights came back on. Claudia looked around her wildly. Nick was gone.

Jaime let go of her and sat down.
Jaime: I love you and that's all that matters. And it's okay if you didn't have your first kiss yet.
Debra: Oh...

Nick was looking in various stores and shops when he bumped into Claudia.
Nick: Claudia! I need to talk to you.
Claudia: What is there to talk about? You have a girlfriend and you cheated on her with me. End of story.
Claudia started to walk out of Starbucks but Nick grabbed her arm.
Nick: Okay, I know I was wrong for doing that. But please, I need your help.
Claudia sighed.
Claudia: Depends... what is it?
Nick: Cynthia is missing and I have to talk to her.
Claudia: Well...
Joe searched the hotel rooms but he didn't find Cynthia. He looked out the window and saw a commotion going on below in the streets. He decided to check it out. People were gathered around 1 or 2 people.
?: Debra! Please wake up. Please!
Joe: Debra...? DEBRA!
Joe pushed his way through the crowd and found Debra passed out on the ground with her date, Dan, by her side.
Dan: Someone call 9-1-1!
Joe immediately whipped out his phone and called. He hung up and joined Dan on the ground once he was finished.

Dan: We were going for some fresh air when...
Cynthia was now standing up and so was Kevin. Jaime had her hands on her hips, tapping her foot angrily.

Cynthia: We can explain.
Jaime: Alright then. Explain.
Nick and Claudia were still in Starbucks.
Nick: Well?
Claudia: Fine. But I'm only doing this for her. Not you.

Joe was in the ambulance truck with Dan and Debra.
Joe: So, she just fell?
Dan: Yeah... I don't know what's wrong but I hope she's going to be okay.

They got to the hospital and now Dan and Joe were waiting for a doctor. Joe decided to call Jaime and tell her what happened.

Joe: Jaime! Thank god you're there. Come to the hospital now.

Joe: I'll explain when you get here. Just come!
Joe hung up. Jaime closed her phone and looked at Cynthia and Kevin disappointedly.
Jaime: I have to go the hospital but when I get back, you two are in big trouble.
Cynthia: Jaime, please don't tell Nick. The kiss was a mistake and it meant nothing!
Kevin: Absolutely nothing.
Cynthia: See?!
Cynthia was near to tears. Her voice was cracky and she was trembling. Jaime sighed and ran her fingers through her hair.
Jaime: Alright... I won't tell Nick.
Kevin: OR Kate. Or anyone else.
Jaime: Fine. But please promise me that that kiss was nothing.
Cynthia&Kevin: We promise it meant nothing.
Jaime: Okay. Now I have to go.

Kevin drove them to the hospital and met Joe and Dan in the waiting room.

Joe: The doctor told us that Debra has... leukemia.
Jaime's knees were suddenly weak. She dropped to the floor and started crying into her hands. Joe hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear.

Joe: She has the strength of her sister...
A doctor came out and tapped Joe on the shoulder. He let go of Jaime and turned to the doctor.
Doctor: Joseph?

Doctor: Debra wants to see you.

The doctor shrugged and left. Joe looked at Jaime.

Lindsey: Let me explain. This is Claudia, one of my friends. She moved away and she lives around here now. I called her up and asked her if she wanted to hang.

Jaime dragged Nick back to the hotel with Joe and JJ following close behind. Cynthia was sitting on the beach, making broken hearts in the sand with her finger.

Cynthia didn't look up to see who was there. She already knew. He sat down and looked out to the ocean blankly.

He chuckled but got serious again.

Debra came in already dressed. She wore a white sequin dress that went just above her knees. She had on white pumps and matching gold jewelery. Her hair was pulled back into a pony tail but it was curled like Jaime's.

Debra: Hey, Jaime. Hey, Kate. The party is just about ready to start.
Jaime: Okay. We're coming.
They all took the elevator downstairs to the ball room. Joe and Kevin were waiting at the entrance in tuxedos. Their mouths gapped.

Kevin: As you wish, beautiful.
They held hands and walked in.
Joe: The gorgeous birthday girl has just arrived.
Jaime smiled and kissed him.
Jaime: You look very sharp tonight.

They walked into the ballroom, too. Nick was nowhere to be found. She sighed and walked in alone. Joe was on stage, probably welcoming everyone to Jaime's 18th birthday party.
Joe: Hello, everyone. I have two things to say. One, welcome to Jaime's 18th birthday party! And two, me, Kevin, and Nick cannot perform tonight for... personal reasons. Thank you.
Joe walked off stage. Cynthia had on a confused face and walked over to Joe.
Cynthia: What's wrong? Why can't you guys perform?
Joe: The Jonas Brothers can't perform if one Jonas is missing.
Cynthia: Nick is gone?
Joe: Yeah. He's been gone for a while. I went to go find him with Kevin but nothing. We've looked everywhere and I'm getting really worried.

Kevin: Great. Get in the back.
Jaime sat in the back of the car and they went to the hotel. Kevin brought the cake to Joe while Kate went to go change with Jaime in Kate and Kevin's hotel room.
Kate: Do you want to change first?
Jaime: Sure.
Jaime took her dress and shoes into the bathroom and changed. She came out with her hair pinned up to be done later. The dress was silk red and strapless. The hem went down to just below her knees. She wore matching heels. She had on heart diamond earrings, a gold locket, and a charm bracelet.
Kate: You look gorgeous.
Jaime: Thanks.
Jaime smiled.
Jaime: You can go change while I do my hair.
Kate: You shouldn't be doing it by yourself. I'll get Cynthia.
Kate called Cynthia.
Kate: Hey, Cynthia.

Kate: Jaime needs you to do her hair.

Kate hung up. She went to go change into her dress. She came out and Cynthia was already there, curling Jaime's hair. Their jaws dropped. She was wearing a green backless dress that would have looked awkward on anyone else but it looked amazing on Kate. She had black open toed high heels and a pearl necklace wrapped around her neck once and then tied near the bottom. She also wore green and black bangles on her right arm. Her brown hair was let down.
Kate: How do I look?
Cynthia: Amazing!
Jaime: Beautiful. Are you trying to take my thunder?
Kate: I'm sorry. Do you want me to change?
Jaime: I was kidding, Kate. Kevin will love it.
Kate smiled and sat on the bed.

She took the curling iron from Cynthia so she could go change. Cynthia came out in a dark blue, floor length dress. It had a beautiful pattern on the bottom with a glittery see through layer on top of it. She wore black strap high heel shoes. She had on diamond earrings with a matching heart necklace on a gold chain. Her black hair flowed down her shoulders and her side bang slightly covered her left eye.
Jaime: Oh my gosh...
Kate: I love it.
Cynthia: Really?
Kate: Nick is going to be crazy for you.

Nick and Cynthia stopped and laughed.

They turned around.
Nick: Lindsey?!
Lindsey: Nick!
Cynthia: Who's Lindsey?

Lindsey: I'm staying here with Maddy.

Lindsey smiled.
Lindsey: So, who are you?
Cynthia: I'm Nick's girl -
Nick covered Cynthia's mouth.
Nick: She's my friend. That's a girl.
Lindsey: Oh, well it's nice to meet you.
Cynthia slapped away Nick's hand.

Lindsey: I got to go. But I'll see you guys later.
Lindsey walked away. Nick smiled and turned back to Cynthia. She gave him a glare.

Cynthia walked away angrily.
Debra: Nice going, Nick.
Kate and Kevin were at a bakery, waiting in line.
Kate: After we pick up this cake, we need to go get Jaime at her house.
Kevin: Okay.
Kate: So, what did you get her for her birthday?
Kevin: A necklace that says" I Love Joe Jonas" on the back of it.
Kate laughed.
Kate: Nice.
Kevin: What about you?
Kate: ...
Kevin: That's cool.

They bought the cake and then went to go pick up Jaime.
