CHEN: In a recent recording obtained by NTDTV, China's ambassador to Italy, Sun Yuxi admitted that the Chinese Communist Party is behind Eutelsat stopping NTDTV's signal into China. The recording, from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) shows that Sun also told Eutelsat chiefs to cooperate closely with the Chinese regime.
[Sun Yuxi, Chinese Ambassador to Italy]: I talked to their [Eutelsat] CEO and vice CEO because they were helping Falun Gong with their channel. But they explained to me repeatedly that they didn't do it on purpose, that they [Falun Gong] got it on [the satellite] without their knowledge [of the broadcast content], etc. Anyway, that's their explanation. After they turned off [NTDTV], they [Eutelsat] came to the counselor for science and technology at our embassy and asked him to relay to me that since I've told them many times, they have now taken care of it, and they will never again allow anything related to Falun Gong to show up. We encouraged them and told them, 'Don't ever get involved with Falun Gong, you should work with us and promote a positive image of China.' They apologized many times and guaranteed such a thing will never occur again. They want to work with CCTV [Chinese state television], and for now, they want to work with China Aerospace and use our rocket to launch their communications satellite and weather satellite."
On July 10, Reporters Without Borders published the tran scri pt of a conversation between a Eutelsat employee and someone who he thought was a Chinese official, which revealed a supposed "power anomaly" as the reason for signal cutoff, was in fact a politically motivated decision due to pressure from the Chinese regime.
Sun's words along with New York Consul General Peng Keyu's recording last month show Chinese diplomats engage in activities outside of their job duties. Exporting human rights violations to foreign soil and interfering with foreign business operations have now become routine practice for the Communist regime.

WONG: Following the report issued by Reporters Without Borders last Friday, which showed that taking NTDTV's satellite signal to China off the air was a politically-motivated. European Parliament members, Reporters Without Borders and the International Federation of Journalists held a press conference together with NTDTV at the European Parliament in Brussels.
STORY: Members of the European Parliament say they will pressure Eutelsat to restore NTDTV's broadcast into China as soon as possible.
[Marco Cappato; Member of European Parliament]: "We are always discussing how to help information going to Chinese people. Now the opposite is happening, there is a European entity helping information not going to the Chinese people."
Vice president of the European parliament Edward McMillan Scott has demanded French president Sarkozy to force Eutelsat to restore NTDTV's broadcast into China.
[Edward McMillan Scott; Vice-President of European Parliament]: "I believe that it's most important today that Eutelsat is forced to allow NTDTV to go on broadcasting."
Coming from a post-communist country, Polish Member of the European Parliament Hanna Foltyn-Kubicka says she knows from her own experience how important it is to have uncensored information. She finds it scandalous that Eutelsat compromised and disregarded human rights for money.
German European Parliament Member, Helga Trüpel, says that the Chinese authorities broke their promise to open China to the outside world. According to her it is more about closing down, than opening up.
[Helga Trüpel; Member of European Parliament]: "It's a question of self esteem because these are our fundamental values and therefore as Europeans we should defend and maintain them."
More then 50 Members of the European Parliament have co-signed a letter addressed to Eutelsat's CEO Giuliano Berretta, calling him to restore NTDTV's broadcast. According to Italian Member Marco Cappato, this is only the beginning of their efforts.

ANCHOR: Now we have several related developments on the Darfur conflict in Sudan. Over the weekend U.N. representatives remembered seven peacekeepers who were murdered in Darfur last week. It came days after the Washington Post reported that the prosecutor for the U.N.'s International Criminal Court will seek an arrest warrant for the Sudanese President. Meanwhile, the BBC reported over the weekend that Chinese weapons were being used against civilians in Darfur. The weapons include Chinese military trucks, anti-aircraft guns, and fighter jets, and they violate a U.N. arms embargo against the Sudanese government. This is a complicated story, but we're going to go through the latest developments step-by-step. Here's more:
STORY: They're called 'anti-aircraft guns,' but in Darfur they're being used on unarmed civilians. The gun's massive shells explode on impact, mixing metal with fire.
The BBC quoted one man who witnessed a close-range attack: "An intense wave of heat instantly sent all the huts around up in flames... There was a lot of screaming."
The BBC also found evidence that the Chinese regime is training fighter pilots to launch bombing runs on civilians in Darfur, violating a UN arms embargo on Sudan.
Chinese authorities declined to comment on the evidence.
Meanwhile, a U.N. prosecutor is to seek the arrest of Sudan's president today for crimes against humanity and genocide. Shortly after the news broke on Friday, Sudanese and Chinese officials reacted negatively.
[Abdalbaseit Sabdrat, Sudanese Minister of Justice]: "Let him (the court's prosecutor) make his accusation by tomorrow. It will be a long time from the time he makes the accusation to the time the court passes a ruling, and from the time of the court ruling to the time the Security Council makes a decision. When that happens, we will take the necessary stands and measures."
But even if the case makes it to the Security Council, it would still have to pass a Chinese veto, which is unlikely because China is a close ally of Sudan.
Experts estimate about 200,000 people have died and 2 and a half million have been driven from their homes in 5 years of fighting between rebels and government-backed militias.
It's impossible to say how many of those killed were innocent victims, but over the weekend the U.N. honored seven of them. The seven victims were peacekeepers -- ambushed during a patrol by an unidentified militia last Tuesday.

The mission of the "International Chinese Traditional Martial Arts Competition" is to bring forth the essence of Traditional Chinese martial arts and provide contestants with an opportunity to advance their Martial Arts skills and improve their moral conduct based on Martial Arts principles. The competition also aims to promote Chinese culture and display true Martial Arts values to the world.
Chinese Martial Arts originated from ancient traditional Chinese culture, it therefore has rich inner content and meaning. It was initially derived from Daoism, which is closely related to personal cultivation (self improvement). Its foundational components include cultivating virtue, artistic technique, nurturing health and longevity, improving physical condition, defending oneself and preventing violence. Hence, the first character in the word martial arts is "Wu" (武), which is formed by combining the characters for "stop" (止) and "war" (戈).
In the long history of Chinese civilization, the first martial art to appear was "Jiao-di" style wrestling during the Yellow Emperor's battle against Chi-you (during 2852 BC to 2205 BC). Following that, many schools of sword techniques appeared during the Warring States Period (1). From the Han Dynasty (206 BC--220 AD) to the Tang Dynasty (618--907), the art of sword fighting encompassed increasingly rich artistic content. For example, the "Three Summits" of the Tang dynasty are: Li Bai's poems, Pei Min's artistic sword technique, and Zhang Xu's calligraphy script. Looking back one can see that the sword technique reached its peak during the Tang dynasty, just as Chinese poetry did. After the Song (960--1279) and Yuan (1271-1368) dynasties, the Daoist Zhang Sanfeng established Tai Chi Quan during his spiritual path towards enlightenment. In the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1912) dynasties, the spiritual community began teaching Ba Gua and Xingyi Quan. Today we recognize them as Internal Martial Arts styles. Meanwhile External Martial Arts styles were being created and spread to the general public. They are known for their elegance, openness, and swiftness. For example, the Long Fist System includes Cha Quan, Hua (flower) Quan, Pao Quan, Hong Quan, Hua (China) Quan, as well as other styles such as Ba Chi Quan, Tong Bei, Fan Zi Quan, and Praying Mantis. The famous Shaolin Quan was also divided into Southern styles and Northern styles.
The Internal Styles place emphasis on a person's inner development and inner cultivation while External Styles trains from the outside to the inside, placing emphasis on physical forms as well as training the mind, body and spirit together. Whether they are Internal or External styles, they both practice with all sorts of weapons, such as the Sword, Spear, Staff, Ax, Yue (long handle ax), Gou (hook) and Fork.
The traditions of Chinese Martial Arts lie in cultivating virtue, artistic admiration, self healing, physical fitness, self defense, and etc. Meanwhile, Chinese Martial Arts have profound theory on techniques and artistic connotation. Therefore, the Martial Arts are a very important part of the Divine Chinese Culture.
Footnote: (1) Also known as the Era of Warring States, covers the period from some time in the 5th century BC to the unification of China by the Qin Dynasty in 221 BC. It is generally considered to be the second part of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, following the Spring and Autumn Period although the Zhou dynasty itself ended in 256 BC, 35 years earlier than the end of the Warring States period.

Have you ever heard about such a kind of crime that a living healthy person is organ-harvested for profit? Such unbelievable crimes are happening across the whole China. Over 41,500 healthy and nice persons have been killed in this way. Those crimes are mostly carried out against Falun Gong practitioners.
If you wish to help raising awareness, you can call the White House Comment Line 202-456-1111 to urge U.S. government to help to stop such a kind of crimes.
In March 2006, The Epoch Times published a number of articles alleging that the Chinese government and its agencies, including the People's Liberation Army, were conducting widespread and systematic organ harvesting of living Falun Gong practitioners. It was alleged that practitioners detained in forced labour camps, hospital basements, or prisons, were being blood and urine tested, their information stored on computer databases, and then matched with organ recipients. When an organ was required, it alleged, they were injected with potassium to stop the heart, their organs removed and later sold, and their bodies incinerated. The first series of allegations were based on apparent eye-witness testimony of two individuals, and directed specifically at the Sujiatun Thrombosis Hospital in Shenyang, Liaoning province. The story received some deal of media attention. Within one month, third party investigators concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support this specific allegation. Some months after the Sujiatun incident, in July 2006, David Kilgour, a former Canadian Secretary of State, and David Matas, a human rights lawyer, conducted an investigation into the wider issue of organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners in China. According to the authors, their report is mostly based on publicly verifiable information, and concludes that the practice is ongoing. Their findings have received mixed responses. The Chinese government categorically denies any mistreatment of Falun Gong practitioners, and rejects their report in its entirety. A Congressional Research Service said that the report's key allegations appeared to be inconsistent with the findings of other investigations, while the Christian Science Monitor says the report's evidence is circumstantial but persuasive. The authors maintain that their conclusion has not been refuted.
