Yes, I'm running for President of the United States of America in 2024!


No, I don't know exactly what I need to do between then and now...



Maybe it makes me a cocky prick, but I think I'm perfect for the job - I'm honest, intelligent, and compassionate - I genuinely care about the well-being of my fellow human beings (past, present, and future), and I actually and literally believe that I have a higher than average ability to navigate possible solutions to the problems that we face as a nation and species.

If nothing else, I know enough to listen to the experts when discussing deep and complicated issues.




One of these years, I'll need to form an actual long-term strategy.

To do THAT, I'll need a 'Council' or 'Cabinet' or 'Circle of Advisors' or something - a source of good ideas, moral support, and reality checks.




For now, I've still got a lot of personal chaos to deal with (primarily financial).

Hopefully within the next several years, I can put myself in a situation where I only need to think about the greater task(s) at hand, and be less distracted by personal baggage.



I obviously can't know what my 'platform' will be come 2024, but between then and I think it's safe to say that I should be:




#1 Trying to shape our 'democratic' 'election' process towards a more open and fair (dare I say 'democratic'?) one. A functioning democracy is not what we have right now. I'm admittedly a complete novice when it comes to political science, but just off the top of my head I understand that we're being fucked by: -Our sold-out media and inadequate education system. A true democracy requires an INFORMED populace. 'nuff said. -Our campaign finance process. Legislators should serve the greater interests of their people, and not their lobbyists. 'nuff said. -Our exclusive-two-party-no-real-debate-but-plenty-of-smear-elect oral-college-no-paper-trail-waiting-in-line-why-the-hell-did -I-have-to-choose-between-eating-lunch-and-casting-my-vote-w hy-isnt-this-a-national-holiday elections.




#2 Doing whatever I can to 'make a name for myself', which I suppose could be restated as 'making sure as many people as possible know who I am, what I stand for, and what my intentions are'. I daresay a good way to accomplish that is by affecting as much good in the world as possible, perhaps starting with the three items listed above.
