The Siyayinqoba Beat It! HIV/AIDS Archive draws from three main organisational legacies, that of the Community Health Media Trust (CHMT), the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) and the AIDS Law Project (ALP). Ultimately the Archive will ensure the conservation of the single most comprehensive audio-visual resource on the science of HIV/AIDS and the history of HIV/AIDS in South Africa. The scope of the proposed archive is immense and will be comprised of three interconnected sections:
i) the Siyayinqoba Beat It! broadcast series and all its raw source footage
ii) the Siyayinqoba Beat It! Treatment Literacy Series and all its raw source footage;
iii) the audio-visual documentation of the TAC's and ALP's struggle for a human rights approach to HIV/AIDS and their struggle for prevention, treatment and care.
