Welcome to the 2008-09 UW World Series!

Each season we strive to bring a varied and exciting, (and yes, occasionally challenging) season of dance, world music and theater, piano and chamber music to Meany Hall. The UW World Series 2008-09 season is no exception. In the coming year, you'll see artists from the far reaches of the globe at their creative best, using the lens of their art to explore the issues, emotions, and inspirations that shape their lives. You can count on an entertaining, memorable, and thought-provoking outing--no matter whether you're experiencing the polished mastery of the Emerson String Quartet, the raw exuberance of Compagnie La Calebasse, the singular intensity of pianist Yuja Wang or the breath-taking finesse of the Peking Acrobats. Perhaps you'll find a returning favorite or, even better, take the leap and try something you've never seen before.
