What ethicity are you from?

Hey man ive been really thinking of taking up the sax now...dont even have one but i just have bottled desire in me to play the sax now for years but i was just wondering....

1: Is the saxophone hard to play?
2: Do i really need a teacher or over time can i learn it on my own?
3: since your a big fan of the saxophone (obviously!!) what songs are the best to hear...maybe even play? (need some inspiration you see) feeling a little doubtful and questioning myself is my heart really in playing the saxophone....dont wanna waste my money,waste peoples time and wanna give the saxophone justice since its such a unique and classy instrument!.

if you could help me out in some way i would really appreciate it...im a total beginner,little or no knowlege of the music background of the sax and i feel way over my head but its just something that drives me to the saxophone...quality instrument!.Thanks bro!
