Get Real Philippines Westernisation is not necessarily bad. The Philippines' development aspirations (which includes freedom, equality, and material security) are all Western concepts. As for expecting a buck for one's trouble, that's capitalism which is also not necessarily bad. The greed you cite is capitalism in excess. The half-way mark of capitalism is self-sufficiency and self-reliance which I think is sorely lacking in Filipino society. (3 weeks ago) |

Message to Cory Aquino and Filipinos - enhanced Sorry, but I think there is a lot of action in the Philippines without any intelligence behind them. Anyway, I prefer to see this more as the voice of all those faceless and nameless Filipinos. Remember that it was the "silent middle class" that made the 1986 "revolution" a "success". What you ask is to invoke the same mentality that makes celebrity endorsements of otherwise worthless products work so well. (1 month ago) |

We have the right to get rid of them, yes, but using the proper democratic and institutional processes provided. Rallies and street "revolutions" merely weaken the very institutions designed to keep politicians' behaviour in check. (1 month ago) |

As mentioned in the video, this isn't about being pro- or anti-Arroyo. We have to rise above this habit of labelling people as being pro- or anti-whoever whenever an idea is expressed. (2 months ago) |

One thing's for sure, "taking it to the streets" will not achieve much.
Jun Lozada started something. Turning it into a circus is not the answer. It should inspire ordinary people to be honest and to do things PROPERLY -- not inspire them to "hit the streets". Street protests merely give politicians and religious leaders photo-ops and opportunities to grandstand. (2 months ago) |

I love the new video. Ninoy as a central theme really emphasizes the digression in Philippine Society. Thank you.
