@#$% 'd by the US Government. I've also thought of them as the silent victims. People talk about AA all the time but people hardly
ever mention how the Native Americans were and still are treated.

Hallo Debi, I was glad to hear from you. I can only speak for people in Germany but I think in other countries it will be similar. If people think about Native Americans they mostly think about the past what has happened and mostly don´t really know the truth. The meanings are too often influenced by movies etc. And often people when they are interested in Native American culture say, don´t ask the people how life is on the rez. And that is the point.
That should not be swept under the carpet. There is still so much injustice. To ignore it is the last thing that should happen.
Native Americans should decide about sovereignty or not, they should have their holy places back..there is so much to do.
But they should decide and not the government cause it is their birthrigth.

I'm a bit curious whether John McCain is a better choice? I would think that he may be an even poorer choice than Obama.

McCain is a right-winger, and they're usually not concerned in alleviating ANY ethnic groups' social and financial concerns.

Unless, I understood wrong and you guys are suggesting that we vote for a socialist? They would probably be more inclined to help Natives (and everyone else)
