(BEIJING, November 19) -- A total of 106 Misses from over 100 countries and regions gathered in Beijing Monday to take part in the recording and music video production for an English Olympic song.
The English version of the song, "Light the Passion Share the Dream", composed by a renowned musican Chris Babida, will follow the same style as the Chinese version, which debuted on April 26 at the unveiling of the planned Olympic Torch Relay route, to provide warm feeling and light the passion for the audience.
The beauties were divided into several groups to take turns for the recroding and the MV production. During the break, they also had the chance to taste the Chinese dumplings.
"I have been so excited to be in Beijing ... We have been in the recording studio all morning, trying to get this song done. And there's been work but it's kind of fun." Miss America said, adding that being associated with the Olympics is incredible and once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Miss Nigeria said, "It is an honor for me as a contestant of the Miss World Pageant and a citizen of Nigeria to be a part of this memorable, prestigious event of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. And I am very happy to be here and I wish everybody who takes part in this Olympics good luck, and best wishes from Nigeria."
The recording and the MV will be ready at the end of this month and will be performed for the first time early December at the final of the 57th Miss World Pageant in Sanya, Hainan.
The beauties were invited by the Office for the Campaign to Solicit Songs for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Press Commission of the Chinese Olympic Committee, and Zhengzhou Synear Food Joint-Stock Co., Ltd -- the Frozen Dumplings Exclusive Supplier of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The Beijing 2008 Olympic torch relay will start in nearly four months, as the Olympic Flame will be lit in Olympia, Greece according to tradition on March 25, 2008. The Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay will traverse the longest distance, cover the greatest area and include the largest number of people.

The Olympic flame has reached the top of world! It was carried up Mt. Qomolongma by Chinese mountaineers at about 9 a.m. Beijing time on Thursday.
The Olympic flame arrived at the Qomolangma Base Camp on April, 25th. Four days later, The lantern housing the Olympic flame was handed over to the climbing team.
And about a week later, The Chinese Mountaineering Team announced the 19 people who would carry the Olympic flame for the final climb up Mount Qomolangma.
The climbers began their ascent of Mount Qomolangma on May 5th. Starting from a camp at 6500-meters high camp, the climbers trekked another 1500 meters higher to another base before preparing for the next phase of their ascent.
Two days later, the route and all the camps along the ascent were finished. And at 8300-meters-high, the climbers were all still in pretty good shape.
On May the 8th, the mountaineers get up at 1 am, starting their final assault to the peak of the mountain.
Decked out in red parkas emblazoned with Olympic logos, the team of climbers finally reached the top of the 8,844.43-meter high mountain at 9:18 am, local time.
During the bid for the 2008 Olympics, Beijing promised to bring the Olympic flame to the world's highest peak. That promise has been fulfilled.

The relay in Lhasa began at 9 am on Saturday morning at the square in front of the city's famous garden, the Norbu Lingka.
A minute of silence was observed to remember the victims of the Wenchuan earthquake a month ago. Local authorities say the arrival of the flame is a great boost to the solidarity of the different ethnic groups in the autonomous region.
Qin Yizhi, vice chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region, said, "The passage of the flame across Lhasa will further enhance the patriotism of all ethnic groups and stimulate their enthusiasm to make greater contribution to the social progress in Tibet. Let's stick to the Olympic spirit of peace, friendship and progress and hold high the Olympic torch symbolizing harmony and glory. Wish all the best to our country, and a great success to the Beijing Olympic Games."
The cloudy day cast no shadows over local enthusiasm. The torch was lit and passed over to local leaders, amid cheers and thunderous applause.
The first torch bearer was 72-year-old Gongbo, a noted Tibetan mountaineer. This run featured 156 torchbearers, 75 of them Tibetan. The route covered 9.3 kilometers and ended at Potala Square.
During the two-hour relay, the flame kindled on the top of Mount Qomolangma on May 8th reunited with the main torch.
The next destination for the Olympic torch relay is Qinghai Province.

The Olympic torch relay continues its domestic tour, and it has just passed through its second stop in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region: Kashgar city. The relay started at 9:45 this morning at the Id Kah Square. A total of 208 torchbearers participated, the same number as the previous stop in Urumqi. The first torchbearer was Chinese ace "high-wire" walker Adili. Adili is the descendant of a Uygur family with a 430-year history in a field of acrobatics known as "Dawazi" in western China.
The relay covered a distance of 6.5 kilometers and lasted about 2 hours. It ended at the Kashgar People's Square. Kashgar is west of the Taklamakan Desert in Southern Xinjiang and about 1500 kilometers from Umruqi.
The torch relay will be held in two other cites in the region, first in Shihezi and then Changji.

The 11th Panchen Lama -- Erdeni Gyaincain Norbu -- has visited a large-scale exhibition entitled "Tibet, the Past and the Present" in Beijing.
He says Tibet's stability and happiness has been hard-earned and should be cherished. He also called on religious circles in China to uphold patriotism and contribute to the country's unity and prosperity.
On Sunday, the young religious leader was shown highlights of the 160 material exhibits and more than 400 pictures at the Nationalities Cultural Palace.
The first part of the exhibition shows the History of Tibet and Feudal Serfdom in Old Tibet. And the second part displays -- the New Tibet, Changing With Each Passing Day. The exhibition conveys the backwardness of Old Tibet as well as the development and
progress of New Tibet. It also highlights the inseparable, historical links between Tibet and the Chinese nation.
The Panchen Lama listened carefully to introductions by staff workers at the exhibition, as he visited the various exhibition areas.
The 11th Panchen Lama says facts show that prosperity in today's Tibet -- results from joint efforts made by all ethnic groups in the region. And that the support of all of the Chinese people and the central government -- has also led to Tibet's prosperity.
The 11th Panchen Lama said, "I have been praying for the country's prosperity and the unity and happiness of people of all ethnic groups. I have also been praying for the success of the Beijing Olympic Games. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, Tibet will become more prosperous and the Tibetan people will enjoy greater felicity in the future."
Panchen Lama says the Tibetan people's hard-earned, happy life should be cherished. And those in religious circles should uphold patriotism, cherish their religion and abide by the law and commandments. He also expressed his wish that those in religious circles can contribute to the region's stability and development, as well as China's unity and unification.

19-year old Gongsan Lamo was a saleswoman at Lhasa's Wenzhou Plaza. She says on the afternoon of March 14th, a mob rushed into her workplace and threatened all the Tibetans there to join them, otherwise they would burn down their shops.
Gongsan Lamo, March 14th Lhasa rioter, said, "I am young and naive. I took part in this illegal activity without being aware of its seriousness. Now I have realized that I was wrong. I will be a new person after I walk out of here."
She said her education was subsidized by the government and her family now live in a government-sponsored residence for Tibetan herdsmen. She says she now really regrets what she has done.
