Firewise Communities Hawaii

Firewise Communities Hawaii works with dozens of federal, state, and county agencies, as well as local communities and individual homeowners throughout Hawaii in a proactive approach to help reduce our state's risk to wildfire.

Offering practical steps (landscaping, home construction and design, community planning, etc.) that individuals and community groups can take to protect themselves and their properties from the risks of wildfire, the Firewise Communities Hawaii program offers technical support, free workshops, community talks and community outreach.

Since 2002 Firewise Communities Hawaii has taught more than two dozen workshops, trained hundreds of county firefighter recruits statewide, and participated in more than 300 community events statewide.
