Troy Dixon (October 19, 1967 -- July 15, 1990) was an American dancer known as "Trouble T Roy", and a member of the hip-hop group Heavy D & The Boyz.
Dixon died on July 15, 1990 when he fell twenty feet from a balcony after a concert in Indianapolis, at 22 years of age. Dixon was immortalized in "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)", a 1992 song by rap duo Pete Rock and CL Smooth.
Trouble T Roy is mentioned on the A Tribe Called Quest song "Vibes and Stuff" when Q-Tip dedicates the song to him.

Intro:
(I reminisce, I reminisce) x3 I reminisce, I reminisce Uh! (I reminisce, I reminisce) Yeah (I reminisce, I reminisce) (I reminisce, I reminisce) (I reminisce, I reminisce)
Verse One:
[CL]
I reminisce for a spell, or shall I say think back 22 years ago to keep it on track The birth of a child on the 8th of October A toast but my granddaddy came sober Countin all the fingers and the toes Now I suppose, you hope the little black boy grows, huh 18 years younger than my mama But I really got beatings cause the girl loved drama In single parenthood there I stood By the time she was 21, had another one This one's a girl, let's name her Pam Same father as the first but you don't give a damn Irresponsible, plain not thinking Papa said chill but the brother keep winking Still he won't down you or tear out your hide On your side while the baby maker slide But mama got wise to the game The youngest of five kids, hon here it is After 10 years without no spouse Momma's gettin married in the house Listen, positive over negative for the women and master Mother Queen's risin a chapter Deja vu, tell you what I'm gonna do When they reminisce over you, my God
[Pete Rock]
My God It's so... Yeah, so lovely That's how we like to do it in the 90's Pete Rock

now, as my subscribers and friends know, i am a big hip hop guy, but what many of you don't know is that i also appreciate other forms of music, especially Jazz. i have therefore decided that i am going to start uploading videos of my favorite Jazz songs in this series called Jazz Classics. i feel it is only right that hip hoppers know all forms of music because hip hop is about appreciating all artistic music. so i would like to let the hip hop fans that know me through YouTube know what some of my favorite Jazz songs are and maybe you can share the appreciation with me, because after all, there would be no hip hop without Jazz. also, for the Jazz fans out there, enjoy.
this is a song by Bill Evans and his trio. Evans was one of Jazz's greatest pianists. he lived a short life (died at 51 in 1980) partially due to a recurring drug addiction that started when he played with the one and only Miles Davis. the drug of choice was heroin. when he got himself off of the heroin, a short while later he found cocaine. unfortunately, the cocaine would partially lead to his early demise. he played with many of the greatest Jazz musicians of all time and became one of the greatest himself. i don't claim to be a Jazz historian or to know the entire story of Bill Evans' life in it's entirety, nor do i claim that every stitch of my knowledge is correct, however, the above is what information i have collected from a few different sources. for more information or more correct information, please research for yourself. this is one of my absolute favorite pieces of music of all time. i hope you enjoy it as much as i do.

i decided to write a poem in 16 bar (hip hop) form and rap it to a track. Trigger helped me get production from New Millenium and he laced the beat with some gorgeous samples of John Coltrane on the saxophone from my favorite track of all time, Resolution, off the greatest album of all time, A Love Supreme, which is a HUGE influence in my style. in case anyone is unclear on the message behind the track, this is about how people have different opinions about things and that we should respect everyones opinion. if everyone likes this, i may do an actual video for it (low tech of course) so let me know what you think and we will put it together. also, if you like this track, you can find it on the Real Hip Hop Forever Mixtape Vol. 1 which you will soon be able to download at myspace/realhiphopforever1520 (in my top friends). thanks for watching!
Lyrics:
Hook (Trigger The Soldier)(2x): Opinions are like voices, we all have a different kind. Just sit back and get this in your mind. Opinions are like voices, we all have a different kind. Just relax and let me reach you inside.
Verse 1 (Eboyd):
As day gave way to starry night, And the glorious pastel moon shone bright, A color spectrum lined the sky, Like brush strokes on a canvas. Sly Sapphire stole into the air, And mist created a watercolor glare. Then came the scent of fresh, paved streets, And dew glazed grass; a novel treat. The wind combed the earth in soft, cool gusts From the ocean whose waves thrust, and crash themselves upon the shore, as they've done before and will forever more. Forever just and orderly, Yet still glorious and free. So as this gorgeous, spacious sky turned black, Happiness filled my soul, eyelids closed, head rolled back.
(Hook)
Verse 2 (Eboyd):
As darkness began to consume the day, And skies began to turn an ether gray, Toxic streaks of color scarred the sky, Without care, purpose or reason why. The slow dying of the morning light, Into a blur of black and white, Further distorted by the moonlit fog. The pungent stench that pricked the sense Was odorous tar of streets so thick and dense. Then came the stinging cold of wind, Coming from over the bend, Where waves pointlessly drown the shells, With ever random, chaotic swell. The useless, nonrhythmic ebb and flow. So rushing came the crushing night; Eyelids heavy, lashes touching, i lost my sight.

i was listening to a Los Angeles radio station the other day and i heard a discussion in which a male of African diaspora was discussing the fact that "White America" is the reason we have so many problem in this country (the U.S., just in case you are watching this from elsewhere). this discussion helped me recollect the many times i have heard this term and been bothered by it. it was instant inspiration for me to write my next poem. i drove home as quickly as possible (i was listening to the radio in my car) and immediately sat down and let my emotions pour onto paper. i reread my poem and realized that i wanted to recite it and post it on the internet. now, here it is. thank you for watching. enjoy.

this is for the rappers out there giving hip hop a bad name. the ones using misogyny, violence, materialism, and ignorance to sell records and then using their money to purchase useless things. these idiot celebrities show off their giant houses on MTV Cribs, then you flip to CNN and the people devastated in the Katrina Disaster still can't afford to live.
