I am currently the Academic Director at Sober College, an innovative residential treatment center for adolescents with addictions in Woodland Hills, CA. I also teach workshops for healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center and courses in the Transformative Leadership Program at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).
I have extensive background in the healing and teaching professions. I completed a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Masters degree in Education at Teachers College Columbia University and a Doctoral Degree in the Humanities with a dissertation on Integrative Medicine at CIIS. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a counselor for children and adults with developmental disabilities. During graduate school, I worked as an academic tutor and a Communications Assistant at Teach for America. After finishing my Masters Degree, I worked as Special Assistant to the Director of the Office of Educational Technology at the US Department of Education in Washington, DC.
I have over a thousand hours of training in holistic healing modalities including several forms of Massage Therapy and Yoga Therapy. From 2001 - 2007, I worked as an independent consultant and instructor for high-end treatment centers, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, wellness centers and private clients. I have also traveled to Asia, Africa, India, Mexico, South America and Europe to study different cultural approaches to healing. I am currently working on a creative non-fiction book about my life experiences.
