Island was formed in 2005, but the three primary members of the band have been collaborating on non-musical enterprises since 1999.

Daniel Codispoti is the lead guitarist and vocalist.

Matthew Codispoti is the main percussionist, as well as providing additional guitar and vocals.

Tim Ahern is Island's bassist, and provides backup vocals.

Daniel writes most of the bands lyrics, though many of the compositions are collaborative. Tim and Matthew have also each written music and lyrics for the band.

These core members of Island are occasionally joined by other artists, including songwriters, vocalists, and instrumentalists. Some of these include Chris Passen, Angela Smith, Andrew Codispoti, and Owen and Ezra Landis of Firelight Revolution.
