So I purchased my first video camera with the intention of filming my kids growing up. I brought it on the ship with me and a funny thing happened. When that camera was on, magical things took place. I was able to capture some pretty cool things that happen to folks during their mundane lives onboard a United States Naval Warship. My first intention was to just edit it all up and make a kick ass recruiting video, but the guys who were on it (even some that weren't) bugged me so much for copies that in a greedy entrepreneurial effort I made the mistake of letting too many people know what I had for sale. It was a decision that ruined my career in the Navy. It's been a while since that's happened and I no longer hold such a huge resentment or hatred for the parties involved, I no longer blame the first class petty officer that ratted me out, or the command master chief who pretended to be my friend but sold me up the river because of cowardice. I do blame the beauracracy and hypocrisy that allowed me to lose my rank and ruin my career over some funny, harmless video of friends wrestling around with eachother and bonding as men. I want to point out that not one person on any of my videos were ever made to feel inferior or demeaned in any way, which is what I always believed to be the true definition of HAZING. So I proudly display these videos I made while I was in the Navy as a testament to some of the best guys I have ever had the privelige of being friends with. I dedicate all of these "hazing" videos to CAPT Samuel Perez, CDR Mark Englebert, and STG1 J.J. Millaway, the three of you couldn't fill a thimble with what you know of true camaraderie and military bearing. I'm ashamed that you represent our country on the open seas.
