Steve Novick, a former environmental attorney and political activist, ran for U.S. Senate in the 2008 Oregon primary.

Although never having run for office, Novick lost by less than 3% points to a candidate heavily supported by the political establishment and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Steve's been a fighter all his life. When a local budget levy failed and his high school closed, he began taking classes at the University of Oregon and went on to graduate at 18.

He has spent his life taking on the big fights -- beating the big polluters who poisoned Love Canal, the Oregon Lottery Commission that was shortchanging Oregon's kids and Bill Sizemore's plans to dismantle education, public health care and public safety in Oregon.

Steve lives in the South East Portland neighborhood of Sellwood.
