My name is Luke Klipp, and I am running for the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee.

I believe that San Francisco is capable of better leadership. We have a city known for its stunning beauty, culture, entertainment, and willingness to challenge the status quo. And yet San Francisco continues to face an expanding housing crisis, an inefficient transit system, flagging nightlife, and the elimination of any middle class.

I am inspired to run by the thousands of peers in my generation who are looking to make lives of their own. Young people, today often saddled with tens of thousands in college debt before they are even viable to make a living, are the next generation of San Francisco. It was young people who invigorated San Francisco in the 1950's and again in the 1970's. It was young people who brought a new spirit to the city in the 1990's, and it is young people who are a critical component to the city's ongoing vitality and competitive edge.

I believe that San Francisco can be a world leader in technology, alternative energy, creative housing solutions, and transportation systems. The fundamental question is whether we will have the leadership to make that happen.
