Name: Lucas
Age: 30
Lucas lives in Nashville, Tennessee (otherwise known as Nashvegas) with his girlfriend Jesse, their 3 cats (Wicked, Grizabella & Daisy), & their new baby boy - Alexander Raiden Bryan Leverett. By day, Lucas manages Marketing & Technology for Central Woodwork & Cenwood Appliance- a proud family-owned company that enhances fine homes with quality millwork & high-end appliances. Like most folks in Nashville, Lucas has other irons in the fire. For instance, Mouseman Productions- a creative services & consulting business on the side. Lucas also sits at the helm of a thriving Anime Convention (a celebration of Japanese animation & related pop culture) , the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention (MTAC). Being quite busy with all of this, Mr. Leverett has been on indefinite hiatus from the pursuit of his degree - a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication & Digital Media with a minor in Theatre & elective studies in Film (where he learned his marketing skills & honed his creative leanings into digital form).
Lucas grew up in Murfreesboro, about 30 miles from Nashville. He attended Oakland High School, where he concentrated on music studies & performance. Lucas marched with the OHS Patriot Band from 1992-1995, playing quads/tenors (four multi-toned drums) & graduated with the class of 1996. He later donated several years of the OHS band website to the program, & followed them through a series of of solid first-place seasons.
His early work experience came from the rather unique position of Explainer at the Cumberland Science Museum (now the Adventure Science Center) in Nashville, where he conducted public presentations dealing with live animals, chemicals, physics, space exploration, technology, & many other topics. He left the program at the mandatory age of 18 & took technology his skills to Sears' Brand Central, establishing a Mac focus unique to the department.
Upon leaving Sears, he revived his science interests at the World of Science store, & later left to start work with MacAuthority (then Computer Exchange). During a short hiatus from the company, he was a technical supervisor for Carmike Cinemas, which helped cultivate his love of film. He left Carmike to begin working with Macs again as an education agent in Tennessee & Kentucky, & also at the MTSU campus computer store. It was there that he was recruited for a five-year position with Apple as Campus Rep to MTSU. Alongside that position, he returned to MacAuthority, eventually leaving Apple & going full-time, until July of 2005 when he left to harvest the greener pastures & promising future of Central Woodwork.
Lucas carries on a family tradition of creativity & self-invented opportunity, with many relatives in the art & photography fields, most notably his Grandfather Les, who holds copyright to many of the most important photographs of classic country music superstars ever captured. Les served as the primary photographer for the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville for decades before retiring. His photographs are still featured in many publications, CD covers, & films to this day - as images of Dolly Parton, George Jones, Roy Acuff, & many others who graced the Opry stage (including Elvis) are always in high demand.
Partly inspiring his initial college interest in Journalism, & a good deal of his principles, is his grandmother Evelyn- who worked as an editor & writer for multiple area newspapers. She recently left this world after a long fulfilling life at the age of 92.
Mr. Leverett's father, Gary, works in the Nashville stage production industry, under the International Association of Theatrical & Stage Employees (IATSE) union, which led to many unique backstage experiences & celebrity introductions, as has become a Leverett tradition. His mother, Charlotte, has been a stay-at-home mom for about 30 years. His sister, Leilani, is still trying to escape the orbit of Murfreesboro, with interests in finishing school & playing Softball.
Lucas' politics are generally left, & he tends to stick to the Democratic Party, based on it's values & service to the middle class & people who need better representation in government than the GOP can offer. He volunteered for the Wesley Clark campaign in 2004, & he is usually quite skeptical of right-wing agendas. He has always defended the underdog in most cases, & the lack of community & increased prevalence of selfish social & economic trends & greed in our nation drives his support of progressive values.
You will usually find Lucas at the controls of one the Macs in his life, tending to one of those many irons in the fire...
