GX is just too fundamentally different from the original series to last, its too "modern" in its style to compare to the classic, mysterious orginal series. ONE FAN'S OPINION OF GX= GX is just not as good as the original series,and it plains me to see such a pale imitation of a great original series on TV, GX cannot hold a candle to the first series. GX's characters are poor, jaden is too annoying and his happy-go-lucky attitude got old after season one and is much less appealing than Yami Yugi's brooding, mysterious manner. The backround characters never do anything but cheer for jaden anymore. When was the last time Alexis or Syrus did anything important? Compare Syrus' list of accomplishments to joey's and see witch sidekick is better. And the villains and plots are not as good either. YU-GI-OH ! hadplots revolving around Ancient Egypt, Atlantis and the Millennium items, GX's plots revolve around space, darkness and destiny. And the decks are not as interesting . YU-GI-OH! had characters with decks like warriors, magicians and dragons, but GX has machines and super heros [partone]
