First and difficult part of my project, for all of you who were waiting for it ... Not very easy to create a video about the Land of Cedars , since it's a well known fact that this small country is so complex and the task is even harder because of the multiplicity of confessions and opinions. However, I tried to be the most objective as I could , so that History won't repeat itself.
This video deals with the Lebanese Civil War strictly speaking, 1975-1976. So keep in mind that this is BEFORE Syria 's intervention in Lebanon.
Everything has been done with Windows Movie Maker, with a major dose of heart and time, made by traditional methods.
In a time when Lebanon is at the dawn of a new Civil War, I hope recent History won't give me more images of atrocities. Unfortunately , Lebanese in general have a short memory and everything can start again.

Cordialement...

Azmi Bishara is a Christian Arab human rights activist and Israeli citizen from Nazareth. He is the founder of the Arab Students Union in Israel and the National Democratic Assembly (Balad); former Head of the Philosophy Department at Bir Zeit University; and a senior researcher in the Van Leer Institute, Jerusalem.
In this talk, Dr. Bishara discusses the radical change from a unipolar world, since the fall of the Soviet Union, to the mode of unilateralism and what this means in the context of international relations. Bishara seeks to highlight this shift by drawing on methods and justifications used prior to the the war on Iraq. He also investigates the dawning reality of 'global terrorism' and how this has influenced this shift. He dedicates a large part of the talk however, to the Arab-Israeli conflict and the pivotal role that US foreign policy has in settling this age-long conflict.

The Israeli racist mentality crops up in a show on Israeli TV Channel 10 about a woman in South Lebanon winning half-a-million dollars in the Lebanese lottery. On January 3, 2008, two Israeli TV anchors were interviewing a reporter for Arab affairs when the anchorwoman asked the reporter, Hezi Shem Tov, why this is a newsworthy event - and that's when the racist remarks surface.
* Can you imagine an American TV broadcaster saying "and we'll bring you a story tonight that shows that sometimes even Jews can be honest"? * I bet most Israelis would shrug their shoulders and say about this clip - "what's the big deal?"

In this video, Ralph Nader is making a point about the Israeli Jews from AIPAC and other Zionist lobbies who manage to not only influence American foreign policy but also take taxpayer money out of the federal budget and give it to other Jews in Israel. If you care about putting America first, make sure you don't vote for Jews as representatives or senators. Just this midterm the number of Jewish senators rose from 11 to 13.
