I grew up in a Roman Catholic family. So I have always believed in God. But I did not know what the role was of Jesus Christ, except technically. When I studied at the Royal Netherlands Naval Academy I became very interested in the paranormal, the occult. I did not know that this is the false counterfeit of the SUPERNATURAL LIFE GOD HAS. And that it brought me in bondage to satan. I experimented with astral projection etc. until a demon manifested every night. After one year of this, fed up with this, I pointed my finger to it and commend "Go away, in Jesus' Name. Immediately it left. At the same time, I turned to God and under tears asked Him to forgive me. I repented and asked Him to guide me into His truth and told Him that if He wanted me to become a priest (I was still R.C.) He could get me a medical discharge by taking an eye, ear, leg or arm. 5 years later I got that, but it did not cost any body parts. After starting to read the Bible and learning the truth, I left the Roman Catholic 'church' for not only teaching and practising things that are in conflict with Scripture, it did not feed me spiritually. Actually it never kept me from danger in the occult and paranormal, and did not bring me to becoming born-again. God found me Himself, seeing I was really looking for this true SUPERNATURAL LIFE IN Christ, but initially on the wrong road... supernatural, but the source of it: satan, the father of lies!
