UPDATE: I'm adding clips from my entire collection in chronological order since the most recent 1982 posts. If I haven't posted something you're looking for, I'm afraid I don't have it in my collection. But enjoy what I have!

Huge fan of figure skating, gymnastics and the Olympic Games.

Check out my clips from years past, especially those on skaters who were never really made it big but made an impact in our sport. Enjoy!

I encourage everyone to comment on the videos you watch. Let's get some constructive debates going out there. Surely, there must be something about a skater, or a program that you like or drives you mad!

Please also check out my new blog (See Link Below) and chime in with your thoughts.

"We are family! I've got all my sisters with me. We are family. Get up everybody and sing!" Ooops...wrong "family" song, sorry!
LOL...yes. The best news you can get in the US is from Fox News Channel. Wait. State-runned news medias report better! LOL Oh, it WAS XinHua that broke the news that gymnast He Kexin was ONLY 13 years old back in November 2007. Now, unless you have the actual paper or printed out that web article, it's disappeared off the face of the earth!
Only ABC has been smart enough to hire the two former skaters who really give good insightful commentary without being biased and silly like others: Susie Wynne and Paul Wylie. I loved the fact that NBC hired everyone BUT them for this year's US Nationals, which by the way, I found to be the worst broadcast Nationals I've ever seen. I'm just glad that the DVDs of the final 2 groups of each discipline were released for public sale. Watching those without the dumb commentary is so much better!
The problem with development is that they're over-developing. The serene landscape of Lhasa with the beautiful Buddhist temples in the hillsides are dreadfully eclipsed by too much modern amenities. Modernizsing is nice but hundreds of years of architecture and the serenity of mountain-scapes should be better preserved.

As a 1st generation Chinese American, born in Hong Kong and raised in the United States, even though I don't agree much with what the Chinese government enforces, I couldn't help but beam with sooooo much pride while watching the Opening Ceremonies last night. If I were there, I easily would have been in tears. The Chinese Olympic Organizing Committee and director Zhang Yi-Mou did such an amazing job!

Ga You!

Hey Sklar. Enjoy your break from uploading all these wonderful videos. I'll probably miss looking forward to what you're going to download next, from the rare videos I've never seen before to the ones I've seen that's nice to see again. We take pleasure in all the videos you post here and really see the passion you have for figure skating. Thanks again and enjoy the Olympics!

UPDATE: Recently, James Yorke has passed, and the skating community lost another star and major contributor to US figure skating. He was 46. Memorial services will be held for him during the July 4th Weekend. I last saw him at Nationals in St. Paul. He will be sorely missed. His latest work included being part of the coaching team for Mirai Nagasu. James Yorke had also skated briefly with Judy Blumberg as well.

Well if it isn't my old friend Sklar! Good to see you! I still have (and still watch) the many ice dance tapes you made for me years ago, as well as all those Mystery Science Theater tapes. Alas, I don't get to so many competitions the way I used to, because of my job, so thank goodness for youtube. :)

GreekOrca: Unfortunately, Selezneva and Makarov were only a mention. Again, they were snubbed by American TV.
