A relatively obscure Deep Purple tune..( I think its off of ' Who Do We Think We Are ? ) I only found it when I bought a live DVD of theirs
months ago. Something about this woman and her friend, who pissed off alot of people in England .
I don't know the whole story but...its a heavy tune for sure...Her first name was 'Mary' and the last name of her
friend ( a Lord ) was 'Long' !
One thing I love about Ian Gillan, is the way he phrases the melody of the lyrics
in Deep Purple songs...this song especially, I think.

Always loved this song by The Doors....kind of quirky in it's coolness...written by Robbie Krieger..I'm pretty sure that it's him singing the chorus' on the recording. I decided to add some percussion too...umm...a cardboard box ?..yep...thought I would slap out some Keith Moon style banging ! For the solo section I do what I call a Mouse Cursor solo...I have a synth program with a piano style keyboard interface on it...I just use the cursor to fly around the keys and make up a solo...it was fun to do...check it out!!

I woke up one morning last week with the familiar words : 'Win Win Situation'

around them. I've been playing around with a few ideas,came up with these

I got the idea of doing the left hand strum technique from my friend 'saffronboots' here o
I got the idea of doing the left hand strum technique from my friend 'saffronboots' here on Youtube. I was watching one of his vids and he did this left hand pull-off strumming thing , and it blew my mind ! He got it from the late Michael Hedges, a great guitarist !!! So I worked out this instrumental using this technique. I called it ' Hand Over Fist ' because...well...Its a strange looking guitar playing position, with my left hand over top of my right hand ! My right hand does what my left hand usually does,the chords...and my left hand does what my right hand usually does, strum or pick. It's in standard tuning...capo 2nd fret. I got some nice blisters on my fingers working this one out !
