DAMN, I wrote you a massive reaction on life in the Netherlands but it seems it was too massive, got lost in posting it. Anyway, life is generally pretty good here but can be tedious if you live in the big city/town/suburb network of the Randstad (Ringcity) where the population is very dense and living spaces are built structurally systematic. If you ever come to Holland, you should definitely visit Amsterdam for couple of days (don't just come here for the weed and the prostitutes, there's a massive, beautifull and lively city outside of the tourist center) and if possible, you should visit some places outside of the Randstad in the south or east of the country. Such as maybe Friesland or Limburg which are very different from the (sub)urban parts of the Netherlands in appearance as well as populance.
