I'm Lauran, an American expatriate with an undying love for Tokyo, Japan. On the surface I seem to be obsessed with Japanese youth culture. Hanging out in Harajuku, dressing up in alternative fashions, going to lives, and just generally being a yankee with my friends on the streets of Tokyo. While I love all these things, the other half of me is a researcher. I graduated from UCSD with a BA in Japanese Studies, studied abroad in Tokyo for my junior year, and spent a year teaching English in Tokyo post graduation.

I'll be returning to Tokyo shortly and permanently. When that happens I'll be starting a vlog about my life in Tokyo.
