What happens when polluting industries find themselves surrounded by housing development? People get sick, the companies won't move. This is the situation in Kilburn, South Australia, right now.

are you still paying your wife $175 to stay in her house at canberra?

The Howard Government is acting in a sane way with climate change. You have to have some idea of what's going to happen before you act. You can't say "I'm going to quit my job and never leave my house to help global warming and let the ecomonics sort themselves out later".

My how it's great to see a politician engaging in such a stimulating public conversation. The responses to comments here are just amazing.

Mr Turnbull
I watched with interest your interview with Kerry Obrien this evening and I must say it was a disappointing performance. Clearly you were rattled by some of his questions. I'm surprised by your position not to set carbon emission targets because of not having the economic analysis done first. Surely the more appropriate response is to do the right thing first and then allow the economics to be worked out from there. I've voted liberal all my adult life but it's performances like this that are pushing me to vote for an alternative government. I just wish that the Liberal party would start really listening to the people - having a genuine conversation with the people - rather than trot out the same stale, formal, stodgy lines that have served you so well in the past. Come on, you can do better! Peter |

Whilst it's encouraging to see you going to the effort, perhaps the amount of viewings suggests that the predictions of a internet democracy have been slightly overblown.
