Well, I dont believe Metal is dead,
But I think a MAJOR overhauling in vocal needs serious attention...
Seriously, how many bands do you know of that are musically Incredible, but have that lame same old Screamo voice... (no one but young Phil Anselmo has been able to pull it off well, in my opinion)
The throaty roar of Cannibal Corpse was great, but played out...
The raspy vocals of Shagrath are cool, but still get old quickly...
And I loved Luc Lemay's vocals on Gorguts, Considered Dead..
However, I wish for a tonality like early Hetfield, and I love the style of ICS Vortex (Simen Hestnaes) of Dimmu and Arcturus... That is where the line in the sand is for it to rise to the next level...
Is good metal doomed to remain totally Underground??

Yeah, South America has some good metal too. ITs just sad how much American Music sucks these days. Man, do I wish it was the 80's...

About your comment on the metal is dead vid. You are right, Metal isnt what it used to be in the states, but in Europe and Japan, the metal thrives. America is a place of trends, your right about that too, but like myself, there are still plenty of true metalheads here!!

And like I said before, I really dont have a problem with death metal in general, I just can't stand those insipid growls. The rest is OK in my ears. I just think Classic metal is much better.
