"Chain Reaction" was a hit single for Diana Ross that was written by the Bee Gees, who also provided the backing vocals for the single. The track was released on the album "Eaten Alive" in 1985 and as a single the following year.
According to the Gibbs biography, the brothers had initial reservations about offering the song to Diana in case it was too Motown for her.
The single became her first #1 single in the UK since I'm Still Waiting in 1971. The song also reached #1 in Australia and was the top selling single of the year (1986) in that country. The song fared less well in the USA where it initially peaked at #95 on the Billboard Hot 100 late in 1985. A few months later, a remixed version of the song was issued as a single (Ross performed this version of the song on the American Music Awards, which she hosted that year). The new version re-entered the chart and performed better, but with the diminished momentum, it stalled at #66.

"Never" is the name of a song recorded by rock band Heart. It was released as the second single from the band's self-titled 1985 album Heart. The song is an aggressive rock number with an uplifting lyric to a person who has been discouraged by love. Like their previous single "What About Love", the music video for "Never" was placed in heavy rotation on MTV.
"Never" became Heart's biggest U.S. hit at the time, peaking at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. It marked the first time that Heart earned two consecutive top-ten hits, and also the first time a Heart album generated two top-ten singles.

"What About Love" is a song recorded by rock band Heart. It was released as the first single from the band's self-titled 1985 album Heart, as well as their first hit single on their new record label, Capitol.
The song was originally recorded by Canadian rock group Toronto, of whom songwriters Sheron Alton and Brian Allen were members. However, the group elected not to release their version, upsetting Alton and Allen. They subsequently left the band and the song was offered to Heart, who turned it into a worldwide hit.
The song's sound marked a change in musical direction for Heart, moving from the hard rock and folk rock of their earlier work to a more polished, power-pop sound. "What About Love" received extensive airplay on MTV and returned Heart to the top-ten of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in five years, peaking at number ten. The song peaked at number fourteen on the UK Singles Chart upon its re-release in 1988.
Grace Slick and Mickey Thomas, of Jefferson Starship and Starship, provide additional vocals on the song.

"Grease" was a number one single in the United States during 1978 by the singer Frankie Valli. It is the title song for the musical motion picture of the same name, which was based on the stage play of the same name. The song was written by Barry Gibb of The Bee Gees; that group would later perform the song in concert, as captured on their live offering One Night Only.
"Grease" was covered by experimental rock band Dog Fashion Disco and included as a hidden track on their album Committed to a Bright Future and sampled in the track "I Want You" by Paris Hilton on her first studio album as well as "Rock The Party", a 2001 single by UK boy band Five.

"Footloose" is a single by Kenny Loggins which spent 3 weeks at number one, March 31 - April 14, 1984 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and was the first of two number-one hits from the motion picture Footloose. The music video features several scenes from the film, in particularly the warehouse where Kevin Bacon's character performs an unorchestrated dance routine (which was actually performed to a different song in the film itself). The lyrics describe a young man who can't stop dancing and he encourages others to do the same: 'Cut Footloose' as the chorus suggests.
The song was very well received, and is easily the most recognisable song recorded by Loggins. When the American Film Institute released its AFI's 100 Years... 100 Songs, "Footloose" reached the 96th position.
The Bacon Brothers included a live-audience recording of the song in bonus tracks of their debut album Forosoco.
Kenny Loggins also performed the song at the Live Aid concert at JFK Stadium, Philadelphia, on 13 July 1985. It was also parodied in Weird Al Yankovic's song "Hooked on Polkas" The song was nominated for an Academy Award but lost to "I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder.
