I have a post-apocalyptic fetish, which I'm happy to talk about. I think that religion - indeed, ALL 'faith' - is the root of at least much evil in the world. I'm a vegetarian, and, yes, I do support the work of PETA (particularly their nude protests); I'm also a member of Animal Liberation ACT. Philosophically, I'm Nietzschean (at least theoretically speaking). I'm therefore a radical nominalist and empiricist (of sorts); I also find Nietzsche's philosophy of the 'affirmation of life' compelling. Yet I also support utilitarianism (broadly speaking) as the strongest and most viable ethical system available to human kind today. Given the major tensions between Nietzschean onto-epistemology and moralistic utilitarianism, I spend much of my time (often in the company of a philosophy-induced headache) attempting to establish whether or not these two positions are at all compatible. Philosophy aside, I enjoy wrestling with my dog, drinking short blacks, eating mock meat, fuelling my hypochondria by reading about naturopathic health remedies, exploring the world of youtube, camping and generally being physical (back permitting that is..).
