Cold, neon reflections decorate a wet, steel waste receptacle as a rat bounds out

of the unconsumed garbage left by the unconcerned, who whiz along surreal

streets perfumed by noisome evil-the result of their unconcern.

Cackles and inebriated caterwauls echo throughout the latticework alleyways,

as the performers in this perverse theater of the absurd deliver lackluster examples

of human compassion to each other.

Plumes of vented steam rise from the city's bowels creating eerie columns in the

zero degree air as screams from a nearby emergency vehicle fracture the street's

crystalline depravity.
