A.k.a. Athletic Theme. It plays on stages such as Hop Hop Donut Lifts! Probably my favorite song from that game.
This song uses SatoshiLyish's new soundset for Mario Paint Composer that has a cool echo effect for every note. I'm using Mario Paint Plus v1.1e. It's really cool. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcfM6yu379M
I've wanted to do this song for a while but it just never came out how I wanted to... until I tried it with the new soundset and I really liked the way it sounded. Hence this new piece is born. I hope you all like it and I really hope Youtube Doesn't rape the sound quality... again.

What does axelrod777 do when his internet is down? He makes a video!
I've recently been playing Phoenix Wright for the DS and I'm hooked. It's an excellent game. Something different than a bloody shoot em up or yet another Mario Platformer, so it's refreshing. So when I wanted to do a song from the game I noticed there were already a few good ones up. I chose to do the final boss's theme (if that's what you could call him). His name is Damon Gant and the song's name is "Swimming, Anyone?"
I won't talk much about the composition part because I can't think of anything to say.
However there was a long process in the making of this video. After I got the midi (the previous day, before my internet died) I did the acutal song. Then when I went to record the pitch was increased and the tempo sped up from the acutal song. I didn't know how to fix it, so I worked with it. I recently downloaded Audacity, which is a great audio editing tool. I used it to record the audio of the song (in its sped up state) and then slow the song back to the original pitch and tempo. It came out surprisingly well. Then I did the usual editing, but in Audacity, which was fairly easy to work with. After I finished that, I recorded the video with CamStudio and then put both the finished audio and the video into WIndows Movie Maker and synchronised them as best as I could. You may notice I did a quick jump at some parts in the song to keep the audio and video together. In the end, it came out pretty well.
Enjoy!

Basically, here's proof that I'm not dead.
I'm sorry I haven't submitted a video in over a month. It's not that I've quit. It's not that I'm working on some huge project that takes this long. It's that I'm doing other things. Pursuing other hobbies. I'll try getting into this more when summer vacation begins.
Ok about this song. Well, it's pretty simple. Really simple. I was just bored when I did this. There are no tricks, glitches, or amazing stunts in this song. I finished it in early May but I wasn't planning on submitting it. I figured it couldn't hurt, though, so I decided I would today. Enjoy!
EDIT: Apparently YouTube did something to the audio so that quiet parts are louder and louder parts are quieter. This defeats the purpose of dynamics in music, so I hope it goes away. After pauses in the music the volume will temporarily get louder and then come back down to normal level. This is not my fault, for the copy still saved on my computer does not do this. Please YouTube for the sake of the musical community remove this feature from newly uploaded videos.

A.K.A. Main Theme. It plays on many of the overworld stages in the game.
Great game. Great song. What more is there to say?
I don't think I've been this satisfied with a composition since "What is Love". Not much to say so... Enjoy!

EDIT May 7 #47 - Top Favorites (This Month) - Travel & Events #79 - Top Rated (This Month) - Travel & Events My longest-lasting honors :) (probably because they are in a less-popular category).
Today is my 1-year YouTube anniversary! Tell the truth, I realized it only like... an hour and a half ago at 9 o'clock at night, and I didn't have anything planned for the event so I was kind of bummed out. So I hurried up to finish the project I was working on: none other than the Final Destination theme from Super Smash Bros Melee and Brawl.
This song is appropriate for my 1-year anniversary because I received this song as a request early on in my MPC carrer. Observing the song led me to the conclusion that it was impossible to do, and I set it aside. Well recently I came back to it with the thought that I would prove my past self wrong and complete it. Low and behold, it's (barely) finished in time for my 1-year anniversary, and I'm fairly satisfied with the results.
The song, like my Zelda Theme, is riddled with triplets and sixteenth notes. Fortunately, they rarely appear at the same time, so I was able to constantly switch between 4/4 and 3/4 time to keep the tempo reasonable. Like my other 2 SSB pieces (Fountain of Dreams and Pokemon Staduim), it may seem empty at times because of the lack of instruments and held-out notes, but it's better than both of them in my opinion. The 5-note limit led me to not go crazy on the percussion (which isn't that epic in the song anyway, with just some cymbal crashes for the most part).
I will also take this opportunity to thank my current 515 subscribers. Without all of the support I get I probably wouldn't bother with this in the first place.
Celebrating my 1-year anniversary, I would also like to thank my first subscriber, emberstar2 (also my sister), and my first subscriber who I don't know in real life, fenix85044, who also gave me inspiration to start Mario Paint Composing in the first place.
Enjoy!

I've had Chocolate Rain on the brain for a while now, and I wanted to do something with it
I've had Chocolate Rain on the brain for a while now, and I wanted to do something with it. Since there were already a number of Mario Paint Composer renditions on youtube I decided to make a youtube poop-like remix-like thing. Some parts are funnier than others, but I think you will like it if you are familiar with Chocolate Rain. I could have made Tay say everything Ganon says in the video but I thought it was funnier when Ganon's voice randomly enters the song.
I did do a small portion of the song on Mario Paint Copmoser and snuck it into a couple verses in the video. If you are wondering what the strange music is it is Mario Paint Composer, which can be found at: http://www.unfungames.com/mariopaint
Enjoy! Or else you will die!
**EDIT** I changed the title to one I thought was better. The old one said "Youtube Poop - Ganon Interrupts Chocolate Rain"
Lyrics:
Chocolate Rain Some will die and others feel your face Chocolate Rain A baby born will die of Chocolate Rain The schoolbooks say you will die again Chocolate Rain The prisons make you wonder where Chocolate Rain went Chocolate Rain Build a tent and say the world will die Chocolate Rain Zoom the camera out and see your face G Eb G Eb G F D Eb C D Bb C C Eb G Eb G F D Eb C D Bb C Chocolate Rain Raised your neighborhood radio rates Chocolate Rain Makes us gay Chocolate Rain Made me gay Chocolate Rain Made you gay Chocolate Rain History quickly crashing through your face Chocolate Rain Using you to fall back down again Chocolate Chocolate Seldom mentioned on the radio Chocolate Pain It's the fear your leaders call Chocolate Rain Worse than crashing worse than calling me Chocolate Rain Your leader is insane Chocolate Rain No one wants to hear about Chocolate Rain Wish real hard it goes away somehow Chocolate Rain Makes the best of friends begin to die Chocolate Rain But do they know each other in Koridai? Golden Sun: The Lost Age is the best game I've ever played for a handheld system. Get it (though I also highly recommend it's prequel, Golden Sun, first).
For those of you who have played it (brief applause) this is the song that plays at the final lightouse in the series: Mars Lightouse.
Many of the Golden Sun songs are complicated. Many of them wouldn't be possible on Mario Paint. I'm glad this one is.
I had actually started this song very early in my Mario Paint Composer career, but I didn't get very far because it was somewhat difficult and I got bored. I recently re-did the whole thing which took me a good amount of time (several days; more than usual).
It came out pretty well, but some of the parts (specifically the game boys) are kinda akward. The note range restrictions and the 5-note limit held me back several times, but I won't point the instances out with the hopes that you all won't notice :).
Please comment and enjoy!

Ok, ok. Pretty much everyone has gotten their laughs now, so I will say this was an April Fools joke. Originally submitted under the title of "Zelda Twilight Princess Hyrule Field on Mario Paint Composer", the first few seconds do resemble the song, but it leads to ironic nonsense. No, I will not finish the song. It's long and repetative. Kudos if you can recognise the song at :33. Hmm... this could qualify as a youtube poop... somewhat...

Holy Crap my first honors in the music category! As of Saturday, March 8 at 7:33 EST #92 - Top Favorites (Today) - Music #89 - Top Rated (Today) - Music Thanks everyone!
I have worked on this piece for longer than any I can remember, it is longer than any I can remember Composing, and the composition part is probably a shining example of what I am capable of. I may have spent about 10 or so hours total or more on this.
Unfortunately, the computer I usually work on had its sound card break, so I went on my secondary one to make this. Well, it has a different version of Camstudio that I don't like, and when I'm recording the sound quality is less than fabulous. Furthermore, I miscalculated where I could properly re-use clips, and some of the transitions aren't very clean. This piece didn't come out like I had hoped, and I'm planning on re-doing it once the better computer is fixed. Because I don't know how long that will take, I've uploaded this in the meantime. Expect an update sometime in the next 70 or so years (my way of saying I have no idea when it can be fixed).
OK, well about the piece... Yes, I can do more than video game music, and I really like this song so I looked at some sheet music and it looked possible, but the sheet music was flawed, with the bass rhythm off and percussion next to illegible. The result: I did a lot more of this song by ear than I usually do. All of the percussion is by ear, the bass rhythm is by ear, and much of the gameboy parts are by ear (and since I'm not very good at pitch-picking, they could be wrong. If you know the correct notes PLEASE TELL ME so I can fix it in my update). The cars (strings) in this tune aren't very prominent in the real song, so I decreased the volume for most car parts, but it's not as quiet as the song had because I liked how it filled in a lot of the emptiness. If the string part was next to nothing in the song, though, I left it out of here. The cars aren't always on the exactly correct beat because if they were I couldn't decrease the volume for only the cars because volume control is for the whole beat. It makes the piece a little sloppy but I dealt with it. The flowers that seem to be in random (and sometimes off-the-scale) places are the result of a glitch that lets me make them shorter by placing them on the low A (I thank LoloGuru for teaching me this trick). My only instrument choice regret is that the plane sound is quiet. It would be perfect if it were louder, because it is long enough to simulate the echo effect that the actual song has during almost all of the vocals.
Thanks for watching, and I dare you not to bob your head while listening.
