This is the live performance of 'Year of the Dog' by BLUSIRKUT at the 2007 Bobolink Music Festival in Belden, CA. Artist at large 'Karl Denson' (of KDTU) was on hand to wail some sax and practice a little cinematography... The best part is halfway through the clip when Karl and John Staten (drummer - On The One) just loose it and start cutting up... good times were had by all...
This track is one of my personal favorites with some beautiful elements and layers of sound exploration...

Minus one Ron Johnson (We missed you Ron!) and introducing Ryan Krieger (Galactic Funk Council) as the new drummer for BLUSIRKUT with Jesse Molloy (On The One) sitting in on saxamophone... that's right... I said saxamophone...
The track everyone's jamming on is Sho-Boiz by BLUSIRKUT... the horn section is kicking, the tag team drum duo is putting eyes out, and the rest of us are just trying to hang on... and there was much rejoicing...

Rockin That Black Rock! Burning Man 2006 www.blusirkut.com
First of all... I want to hear a HUGE round of thanks and applause for those hard working and generous cats over at Fringe Camp... They made our time in the desert such a wonderful and special event. So give it up for the Fringe!!! http://www.fringecamp.com/
They did such an amazing job on Sparky (http://www.fringecamp.com/spaceark/)... not to forget our good friends our friends at OBOP either who graced us with a tent on the esplanade during the burn... Thank you Tyler for creating the spark that helped cover BLUSIRKUT in playa dust...
Thanks also to all the friends who came out to support the 'Sparky' show from Paradox Lounge, Space Cowboys, Port Townsend Crew, Frank & Jim and their family, and countless others... you all help make this event worthwhile to me and everyone who knows you...
FOR THE RECORD: everything you're hearing was improvised, created, & performed live on the spot. This was our first time playing with our new drummer, Ryan Krieger, and what better a place for it than the true trial by fire... we are very fortunate to have him in our family now.
Pictures are up on www.blusirkut.com/photos!!! (and videos too) I hope all of your burns were bright and full of laughter... please let us know what you thought and how we can help make your experiences better next year...
one love...

This is a quick compilation of the HD performance 'SOLD[i]ER' at the Fremont studios in Seattle from BLUSIRKUT. The video is performed 'LIVE' during shows by Alton Parker...
BIOGRAPHY: With their first (self-titled) E.P. release, the musicians of 'KDTU' step up and deliver this fresh new sound for rump-shaking aficionados searching for the perfect groove 'BLUSIRKUT' subtly blends 'St. Germaine' style riffs and 'Thievery Corporation' beats with the improvisational dynamic of a live band - infusing their long and distinguished history as industry leading jazz/funk musicians with cutting edge technology. To top it off, the band's visualist performs tightly integrated 'live' visuals designed in direct tandem with the music (this ain't your mother's VJ)...
Originating from Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, these virtuoso's have played venues around the world from the Fillmore in San Francisco to Madison Square Garden and the Blue Note in Tokyo. They have pioneered ground-breaking grooves on a global stage for years and now they have unleashed their full talent and imagination into this deliciously experimental live dance music, surpassing all expectations and leaving current dance culture in the dust.
What started as a collaboration in the recording studio quickly became a full blown project to explore new styles (Hip-Hop, Nu-Jazz, Drum-&-Bass, etc.), ultimately harvesting the best qualities of these sounds to perform live what most musicians can only do in a studio. " BLUSIRKUT" is the sublime union of technology, talent, experience, enlightenment, and devotion - serving as a platform for the next generation of production, composition & expression. Armed with an arsenal of video projectors, digital effects, laptops, synthesizers, and drum machines - combined with a stunning array of traditional instruments and techniques - their sole intent is simple, they make you move... and they're good at it...

BLUSIRKUT blew the other two local bands away & were fantastic. A new kind of world funktronica that I found far superior to most of the organic techno (eg. zilla/disco biscuits/the duo). BLUSIRKUT played some updated sweet acid jazz with world flavors. It was great to see the guys in their own vehicle! -Upstream Entertainment

After playing together for 5+ years as Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, the Tiny Universe has stepped off the beaten path...
Seriously ... all » though, it's mashed potatoes and gravy nu-jazz, with cornbread DRUM & BASS smothered in collared greens and a big ass side of sampledelic delight. Serving up today's special: Live Brazilian-House and World-Beat gumbo with 5-pieces of funky fried electronica. Call it what you want... but this flava will have you coming back for more. Formed from the inspired spirit of the 'Tiny Universe' (of Karl Denson's Tiny Universe) :: blusirkut :: brings back together the musical genius, heart, and spirit of five souls lost in an increasingly specialized world of polarized genres. Bridge the gap, make the connection, and get your head wired to the sirkut...
We've all performed with artists such as: The Allman Brothers Band, DJ Sasha, Soulive, Sound Tribe Sector Nine (STS9), The Mutaytor, Victor Wooten, Mark Farina, and countless others... break the genre... bridge the gap... the future is yours...

Lordy! This tune gets bumpin! John Staten, Jesse Molloy, Aaron, Andy and crew from On The One sit in with BLUSIRKUT on a live set affectionately referred to as 'M.J.' or Michael Jackson... it's all in that beat baby... The stage was bouncing and I had to grab a bass cabinet from falling over, righteous...
A couple of great solos in there and you can witness the madness that was Bobolink Music Festival 2007... Up next: Meltone! ___________________________________
