In 1979, along with Robert Pereno, LA Richards, Carole Caplin, Tim Dry & Sean Crawford (Tik and Tok), Barbie Wilde formed SHOCK: a mime/dance/music troupe. SHOCK toured with Depeche Mode and Classix Nouveaux in the early 1980's and supported Adam & The Ants and Ultravox. They also supported Gary Numan at Wembley Arena in April 1981. SHOCK released two singles with RCA Records: 'Angel Face' and 'Dynamo Beat' - produced by Richard James Burgess of Landscape. Barbie went on to write with Landscape's Burgess and Walters, creating 'Phantom Lady' and 'Metal Man' amongst others.

In 1986, Miss Wilde was the first classically trained robotic mime artist to appear in a Bollywood movie in the blockbuster,'Janbazz', directed by Feroz Khan. She also robotically mimed with British TV legends Morecambe and Wise. Other film appearances include 'Death Wish III' starring Charles Bronson and 'Hellbound: Hellraiser II', where she played 'The Female Cenobite'.
