I made this fairly quickly, about a day, and I really like it. I might make a faster, more catchier, possibly techno version later on.
Gah. Someone guessed what the background beat was. I expected it to take no sooner than a month but... eh, whatever. It's Someday by Sugar Ray. In retrospect, the beat didn't match up as well as I wanted it to. Oh well.

This request came to me, not as a specific song, but as a request to simply do something from Metroid, preferably the Prime series. In any case, this is the Title Screen / Main Theme from the second game in the Prime Trilogy in Mario Paint Composer.
Initially, I had plans to do Phendrana Drifts from the first game, but there are simply pieces that either won't translate or are beyond my skill to translate well to Mario Paint Composer.
This piece is more car-heavy than most of my pieces, I think. But in any case, I think it turned out nicely regardless. Look for the Echo section in the middle, it's my favorite part!

I wanted to chellenge myself so I picked what looked like a hard song. I was right! In almost every 2 measures the 5-instrument limit was breached, so I had to sneakily (and quite cleverly if I do say so myself) remove some background parts to fit the bass and melody.
I also implimented the trick I invented to make long notes (like the cars and planes) short by placing a very quiet note right after the note you want short. Look for the many planes that I placed on the lowest note (B). I hope you can barely hear them, because they make the guitar part sound more like the song.
This was a toughie, for sure, and I hope you all enjoy it!
