This was a video I made to introduce my fellow classmates before our Thesis presentations. We are the graduating class of the Stanford Program in Design.
I made it the night before, but spent a few weeks figuring out exactly how it would work. Luckily it turned out well and the crowd seemed to like it.

Ever wanted to yell, "THIS IS BULLSH*%!" and flip over a table? Ever notice that characters on TV or the movies flip over a table whenever they get angry? Well now you can too!
"Flip Table" is a concept developed for my Design Thesis which explores the irreverence and emotional relationship we have with our everyday objects. It gives the user permission to interact with the object the way that he/she wants to and points to how playfulness can come from the "flipping" of conventions and social taboos.

This is how my rube goldberg machine ends. The objective is to ring the bell, so basically the golfball that went down the chimney, knocks the toy climber's hand out of the hole, allowing it to slowly climb the building. The FedEx boxes eventually knock the "knocker" off its peg and allows it to swing and hit the bell. I stopped it from hitting the bell though, because I was videoing this during work-time. :)

This is the main section of my rube goldberg machine. The marbles pushed a golfball through a tube and the golfball hits the CD dominoes, and knocks another golfball down some book spines, down a ramp, over a kids' xylophone, down another ramp, activating some flags which say the name of the design firm i'm interning at, "D2M", and then down the chimney of a cardboard building.
