Lyric:
Oceans of green What a picturesque scene As the wind blows across The meadow
Pack horse and pack mules Shoot outs and gun duels As the wind blows across The meadow
A good honest breakfast To honour the day Ploughing the fields Wiling the hours away
Gold carts and gold mines Hide in (or Hiding), the moonshine As the wind blows across The meadow
Then the fat cats moved in With their slick backs and concrete Well the pack horse and pack mules Are memories that lay on the wind
The Dust Devil dances It skips and it prances As the wind blows across The meadow
Sweet smoke of Birch wood Hangs like a soft hood As the wind blows across The meadow
Now the sweet smoke still hangs But is more like a dark shroud And Dust Devils die in concrete Just memories that lay on the wind

This is another one of my favourites by James Taylor. I hope you enjoy it, my cover is based on a recent live performance of this song by James Taylor.
Lyric:
Take to the highway wont you lend me your name Your way and my way seem to be one and the same
Mamma dont understand it She wants to know where Ive been Id have to be some kind of natural born fool To want to pass that way again But I could feel it On a country road
Sail on home to Jesus wont you good girls and boys Im all in pieces, you can have your own choice But I can hear a heavenly band full of angels And theyre coming to set me free I dont know nothing bout the why or when But I can tell that its bound to be Because I could feel it, child, yeah On a country road
I guess my feet know where they want me to go Walking on a country road
Take to the highway wont you lend me your name Your way and my way seem to be one and the same, child Mamma dont understand it She wants to know where Ive been Id have to be some kind of natural born fool To want to pass that way again But I could feel it On a country road
Walk on down, walk on down, walk on down Walk on down, walk on down a country road Country road Walking on a country road

This is a song i wrote this morning, i wasn't going to upload it just yet as i want to add some more verses and stuff but i'm going away for a few days and didn't have time to add them. Consider this a rough demo. I don't usually write songs about the country but i live in the country so i thought i would give it a go. The refrain 'as the wind blows across the meadow' is supposed to show how nature is constant regardless of the activities of man. All Rights Reserved.

This is one of my favourites by James Taylor, i hope you enjoy it.
Lyric:
There's something in the way she moves, Or looks my way, or calls my name, That seems to leave this troubled world behind. And if I'm feeling down and blue, Or troubled by some foolish game, She always seems to make me change my mind.
Chorus:
And I feel fine anytime she's around me now, She's around me now Just about all the time And if I'm well you can tell she's been with me now, She's been with me now quite a long, long time And I feel fine.
Every now and then the things I lean on lose their meaning And I find myself careening Into places where I should not let me go. She has the power to go where no one else can find me And to silently remind me Of the happiness and the good times that I know, got to know.
It isn't what she's got to say But how she thinks and where she's been To me, the words are nice, the way they sound I like to hear them best that way It doesn't much matter what they mean If she says them mostly just to calm me down
Chorus - End.

One of Elton and Bernie's very b-b-b-est. One of my favourites and i offer you my humble cover.
'Bennie and the Jets' is a song composed by Elton John and Bernie Taupin that first appeared on the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album in 1973. The song tells of 'Bennie and the Jets', a fictional band of whom Elton John is a supposed fan. In interviews, Taupin has said that the song's lyrics are a satire on the music industry of the 1970s and the greed and glitz of the early '70s music scene.
In several interviews Elton John said how he was opposed to 'Bennie And The Jets' being released as a single, he did not think it would be a hit.
The song was produced by the late, great Gus Dudgeon, who added the 'live' sound to the track. Dudgeon added applause and audience sounds from Elton John's previous concerts, plus whistles and a hand clap on the on beats. According to Dudgeon, 'English audiences always clap on the on beat, they're always on when they're supposed to be off, which drives me crazy.'
On a side note, the keen eyed amongst you may notice a wire attached to my microphone or my 'Buick', if you're reading this Ron. It is a not-so-ingenius harness that i made to hold up my mic straight, just in case you're wondering!
Music by Elton John
Lyric by Bernie Taupin
Hey kids, shake it loose together The spotlight's hitting something That's been known to change the weather We'll kill the fatted calf tonight So stick around You're gonna hear electric music Solid walls of sound
Say, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet But they're so spaced out, Bennie and the Jets Oh but they're weird and they're wonderful Oh Bennie she's really keen She's got electric boots a mohair suit You know I read it in a magazine Bennie and the Jets
Hey kids, plug into the faithless Maybe they're blinded But Bennie makes them ageless We shall survive, let us take ourselves along Where we fight our parents out in the streets To find who's right and who's wrong

Consider this uploaded in the same spirit as my first version of 'Open Your Eyes' in that i am not totally sure of it's quality et cetera. Oh well here it is now. The video is in black and white, it reflects the mood i was in while writing it earlier today.
Thanks for the little nudge of encouragement Ron :)

Lyrics:
High class whores in limousines Cocaine to match my shoes An ounce or two of this and that Just enough to sing the blues
Riding 'round Old London Town Getting high but feeling low Got all the money i could ever want But still no place to go
Tonight i'll save myself Oh i don't need nobodys help Oh but won't you please stand close I know that i'm not well and i just might die If it's my time i'd like to say goodbye
I made it through the labyrinth and i came out strong I must've held the upper hand I lost some friends along the way Well i hope they understand

Lyric:
Open your eyes, tell me what can you see? I see ten thousand angels looking at me Now open your heart, tell me what do you feel? I feel heavenly hurt and the love I conceal
Walk down the street with the weight on your shoulder You're going nowhere, but you're still getting older Though I'm safe in your arms I'm still insecure Don't think I'm in love with you anymore
Love took you away on a one way ride To the top of the mountain, with no place to hide You took your inner most secrets, and shared them with me Now they're smashed on the floor for all to see
Chorus:
Run your hands through the wheat Close your eyes Lay down on the grass Melt away Dance with the clouds Sway with the trees Fly with the birds And come with me

Hello folks, i recently did a few takes of this song and sent them to Ron, purely for a friendly opinion. Then he said "hey Duncan,do you want me to add some strings....and a double bass?", well of course i said yes and i was simply amazed with the outcome. Ron also kindly added the lyrics into the video for me upon request.

"Your Song" is a ballad composed and performed by Elton John (arguebly his best). The song's lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin. It appeared on John's self-titled second album in 1970.
The song was released in the U.S. in October 1970 as the B-side to "Take Me to the Pilot". Both received airplay, but "Your Song" was preferred by disc jockeys and replaced "Take Me to the Pilot" as the A-side, eventually making both the UK and U.S. top ten charts.
I think what makes this song so great is how it is a blend of so many different musical styles, there's elements of jazz, soul, folk and even hints of R&B at the chorus. The meaning of "Your Song" is an expression of love from an innocent, the lyrics perfectly express this and the fairly complex chord pattern reflects further the complexities of love.
I hope you all enjoy it, special thanks to my good friend Ron for helping me put this together and without whom i would not have uploaded a song for god knows how long - cheers mate;
Duncan
Lyric(Bernie Taupin):
It's a little bit funny this feeling inside I'm not one of those who can easily hide I don't have much money but boy if I did I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show I know it's not much but it's the best I can do My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song It may be quite simple but now that it's done I hope you don't mind I hope you don't mind that I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue Anyway the thing is what I really mean Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen
