Actually.....the Islamic View is that God Almighty uses science as a mechanism to govern this universe. Take for example the following verse from the Quran, a 1400 year old scripture:

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe? ---Chapter 21, verse 30

This is what we call "the Big Bang" now a days. Also, God encourages the acquisition of scientific knowledge to understand his great power:

And He has subjected to you, as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: Behold, in that are Signs indeed for those who reflect. ---Chapter 45, verse 13

Oh, and consider this, scietifically speaking, look at how "life" works, the body(mind especially), plants, animals, etc. There are many things about life we can't "see" with our two eyes. BUT, we still believe they are there and we humans give these things names to make them more "logical" and easier to believe in. BUT, we can't really explain where these things come from or how/why they occur. As a scientist, you would understand this better than I.

There has to be more to life than this. There has to be a PURPOSE... for EVERYTHING in life. If you'd like to I would like to further this topic with you.

If you are an atheist, what do you think happens after death?

How did the earth form, how did life begin? Please don't give me the typical scientific answer of molecules just appearing out of nowhere and forming the atom, etc, because we all know that if we actually stop to think about that, it makes no sense at all.
