This short video of the most amszing fireworks show I've ever seen was taken from the Aqualuna boat in Victoria Harbor on July 1st, 2007 while celebrating the 10th Anniverary of the handover to China of Hong Kong. As you can see both the fireworks and lasers were choreographed amongst many building surrounding the harbor and played to music. I can't quite keep the camera still considering I'm on a boat but it's still a great video to watch.

Here's a short video of the 2007 Earth Day festival at Memorial Park in Pasadena, California. A few things missing from this video are the Phoenix Electric Vehicle, the Kiddie Protest and the clip with the Path To Freedom House people. I didn't include those since I have separate videos for those already on YouTube. Check 'em out!

I've been hearing about the Path to Freedom for some time and have even signed up to visit the house but they've been so busy, they haven't let anyone in for a while. That's why I was really glad I had a chance to meet a couple of the people from the house at the Pasadena Earth Day Festival. If you have a chance, you really should try to check out what they're doing. It really is quite an accomplishment here in the city. www.PathToFreedom.com

Yesterday I spent the afternoon at the Earth Day Festival in Pasadena, California. It was held at Memorial Park, just north of Old Town Pasadena. There was quite a lot to do there, especially for the kids; including performances from local musical groups and various performers, arts and crafts and other kids games, rock climbing, horseback riding, eating, window shopping the earth-friends vendors that helped sponsor the event, and my favorite, the debut of a zero-emissions vehicle here in California (See my other video here in YouTube)! In the next few days, I'll try to post more videos of the event. In the meantime, I wanted to share with you something I had a fun time watching. An organization called www.TheWish.org, who is devoted to spreading peace and environmental awareness through art and music, was at the event and was able to draw quite a bit of attention using what they called a Kiddie Protest. They provided the materials for children to paint signs and then do a few laps around the event, led by the Millen Sisters (www.theMillenSisters.com), protesting for their favorite causes. Really, my description here doesn't do it any justice so just watch the video.

One year after the launch of http://www.CarFreeLA.com, I decided to head to the 2007 Pasadena Earth Day Festival to take a look at what's going on in the green world. As many of you may know, www.CarFreeLA.com was started with a vow of mine to not purchase another vehicle until a 100% zero-emissions vehicle was available. Well folks, it looks like I won't be waiting much longer. Phoenix Motors, out of Ontario California, today debuted their Zero Emissions Sports Utility Truck. I took this quick video and was lucky enough to have one of their salespeople tell us a little something about the truck, which will be available for purchase in California this summer. I hope you like it.

Here is a quick 360 degree video taken from the top of one of the sand dunes of Mingsha Shan, or Singing Sands Mountain, directly in front of the Crescent Moon Spring (not Lake as Lonely Planet calls it) in Dunhuang, Gansu Province in China. the video was shot on February 26th, 2007, there is snow in many places and half the spring is frozen so you can just imagine how cold it is. However, when you're hiking up, you get so hot and sweaty that you convince yourself it is a good idea to take off your shoes so they don't get full of sand. When you finally calm down after reaching the top you start to realize how cold it is. This video really doesn't do the experience justice; you really have to go and see it for yourself. When you do, be sure to pick the most direct route to the lowest part of the top. I think there is something psychological about finally reaching teh top that makes the climb to other, higher parts, much easier. If you decide to go the free route to the dunes, you will most likely climb the dunes behind the spring, direclty opposite where I am standing. By the way, the way down is a lot of fun. If you can, try bringing a board or something to ride down on!
