I am an HVAC/R journeyman technician in the Phoenix, AZ area. This area is infested with HVAC hacks, especially in the residential HVAC side of the business.

I have not only witnessed outright jackleg hackery by the unskilled techs or those techs who just don't care, but many of the local HVAC companies themselves don't care about doing anything properly as they are in the business ONLY to make a quick buck in this hot Arizona climate. They don't care about proper training for their technicians as long as they bring in $$$ from the customers.

In the past 7 years of being in this area I have collected many pictures and some videos of the problem in our area which I will start to share on youtube.

One day I could only hope that the corrupt local government would ENFORCE all building codes and require these jacklegs to actually pull a permit for these installations so the problem with safety and improper system access would improve!

hackfree, all that hvac is a luxery our stuff has to be there. You have codes we have codes, maybe that sprinkler on the cat walk wasput there to be a certain distance off of a wall or in a closet. Quit your bitchin and wipe your nose on your dress. Get the tears out of your eyes and deal with it. When was the last time HVAC saved lives or property, and get your duct work off my pipe!

hey man, i me vinylman86! this is my other channel for vintage audio and other random stuff.
vinylman86 | May 26, 2008
hey man, i lol at your comment when i you thought my user name refers to vinyl siding. when i went to california back in '06, i noticed none of the houses have vinyl siding just stucco, wood, or maybe brick, but no vinylo siding or that abestos type siding found in older homes, lol! one of my older brothers hangs siding and said if the west coast had vinyl siding it will warp due to dry weather conditions. oh yeah, i went to school for hvac, but never went any further than that.

Thanks to you I no longer look at my inspectors as asswholes lol, now I am happy they are around to make sure shit like what goes on in arizona, doesnt happen here, no runcap bandits lol, no deathtrap roof units ( hell in canada we dont use roof A/C Units / because of the snow)

I like entering a job site where the last techinician that was there before me, left his name, liscence number , and Company

J/w in arizona, are you guys allowed to lock off the gas metre if the A/c unit is installed in a complete unsafe mannor, that would be hazourdous to the occupants inside the home? kinda a bit of an obvious question , but he'll ive seen some of the work you have to deal with down there :P lol

Hey, payson that was cool experiment with water in vacuum but, I would say that the vacuum took so long because of difference of indoor temperature around the glass jar.
