This is a 1978 Tweety Talking Alarm Clock made by JANEX CORP. of Eatontown NJ 07724 Warner Bros., INC. U.S. PAT. NO. 3,835,640 (this info is printed on the back of the little house) On the very bottom of the clock itself in small letters it says, Made in Taiwan.
When the wind up alarm clock goes off, a little battery powered motor (takes one D battery) makes Sylvester chase Tweety Bird around and around on a little pedestal (beneath a plastic house which also holds the wind up clock) and at the same time a built in tiny phonograph plays over and over on a little record (Its called an OZEN box that makes the sound possible). "I thought I saw I puddy cat. I did see a puddy cat, please get up save tweety bird, I hope my call can be heard. Sylvester's up and in a rage, if you dont wake up he'll reach my cage"... You also hear a bird chirping sound afffect when the record starts and comes to an end.

This is also "mostly" the intro to "The Archie Comedy Hour". For "Comedy Hour", they added a segment between the two spellings of ARCHIE where Ron Dante sang "featuring Sabrina" and then Hot Dog says "The Teenage Witch". Ron then spells out "S-A-B-R-I-N-A" and then Hot Dog says "The Teenage Witch" again. At the end, the gang shouts "It's The Archie Comedy Hour" twice and a title card is shown using the shape of the letters as spelled out.
Unfortunately, this is not done for this "New Pals" version of the opening as shown here. However, one glaring omission in this segment was the 6-note piano intro before the first "A" is shouted. I have added it back in, and also added in the "brought to you by Pals Vitamins" commercial teaser featuring Archie animation that was shown in the original CBS airing in 1969. Since my copy of the original airing of "New Pals" is very faded, you will notice it as I make the transition from the clean remastered portion to the old faded portion containing the commerical intro.
For those not familiar, "Archie and His New Pals" was broadcast on CBS-TV in primetime in September, 1969 to introduce the character of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch to Riverdale High School. She was being featured in the new "The Archie Comedy Hour" on Saturday mornings on CBS. Strangely enough, this TV Special did not air until the Sunday night AFTER the show had already premiered on Saturday morning. And even though Filmation was notoriously famous for reusing animation, a lot of new animation was created for this special that was never used in the Archie series again. It is also probably the only time you will see Archie's freckles shown in Filmation animation.
The closing credits of the episode features The Archies singing "Get On The Line". That song segment was originally created for "The Archie Comedy Hour", but was reused in this special. It is now the only version of the "Get On The Line" animated segment that exists as the original has since become lost.
"Archie and His New Pals" was rebroadcast on CBS-TV in primetime in 1970 as the "Archie Sugar, Sugar / Jingle Jangle Show". It was trimmed down slightly to allow for the "Sugar, Sugar" and "Jingle Jangle" music segments to be tacked on to the end, as "Jingle Jangle" was a Top 10 hit at the time.
"Archie and His New Pals" is currently available on DVD as a BONUS in the "Archie's Funhouse" DVD boxset from Genius Products and Entertainment Rights. All Archie characters are © Archie Comic Publications, Inc. All Rights Reserved by the respective copyright owners.

This audio-only clip features Ron Dante and Toni Wine (basically The Archies) performing a 1970 commercial for Tang Instant Breakfast Drink. The song was "Do The Moonwalk" aka " Tang, Tang, Bang, Bang", and the TV commercial featured kids drinking Tang and acting like they were walking on the moon. There was nothing in the commercial that showed or mentioned The Archies, but there was no mistaking the voices or the music.
This clip was pulled from an audio cassette I made in 1970 of an original hour-long "Archie's Funhouse" broadcast on CBS. I found it interesting that this commercial was shown during the "Archie's Funhouse" show.
