thank you so much for posting your ''why do atheists care about religion?'' video. the information in it is sickening! i have never had to research the contradictions of religion because i was raised as an atheist... i have never understood religion or why people believe it.

Hi fellow thinker, rename atheism, rationalism!
|

Russjumps4fun.....how rational can you be when you have quotes like this in your profile?
"Impacting the world for the LORD Jesus Christ, I believe in evolution and the big bang theory. 'The Qur'an is the terrorist handbook' Christ still stand perfect in my heart." I hate hypocrisy. |

Russjumps4fun, you don't even know the meaning of rational.
THEGLASSOFMILK, hmm I don't know why we should just move somewhere else. Maybe because in many parts of the world, we would be beheaded or killed in the streets for denying god or opposing the government? The United States is and will always be based on freedom and democracy. The discrimination of anyone by the government, including atheists, goes against the constitution and the bill of rights; it goes against what makes the US so great. So no, we won't simply move somewhere else. Instead, why don't you move somewhere else? Then you'll realize how stupid your comment was. |

If the human mind is not connected to a "supernatural" realm (something outside the laws of physics), then there really is no way to determine "truth" in regards to a transcendent reality. Abstract thought would be meaningless. There would be no sure way of trusting our thoughts, including the ones about atheism. The concepts of "truth," "logic" and "evidence" would only be sensory experiences being interpreted by electrical impulses in our brain. If no transcendent reality exists, how can you be sure that you're right and I'm wrong about God? Even mostly sure?
On a side note, just because you are an atheist, that in no way guarantees that you are "rational." If I don't believe in a God, that by itself does not qualify me to call myself a Bright, rationalist or freethinker. There are intelligent and dumb people in both camps. |
