Jaymie Murray (a kiwi but don't hold that against him, ha!) Jaymie was born in Thames, New Zealand in 1977. His interest in music started at an early age. Jaymie's dad played the acoustic guitar and so it naturally followed that at 10 years old, Jaymie learned to play the guitar and the piano. However, Jaymie had a passion for the bass and at 15, he saved up his cash to buy his first bass guitar and together with his mates, he formed a band. Jaymie played for various original bands in New Zealand including Fusion and Unforgiven Orange which won a number of band competitions and released a single which received radio airplay.

In 2000, Jaymie moved over to Australia and joined a covers band that played in various top venues in Sydney. It was in Sydney where Jaymie met his beautiful wife, Joanna. Together, they moved to Queensland in 2002. In Queensland, Jaymie played for various covers bands including Slyder, FBI, Chrome and Punchline. He also did studio work and played bass for a number of albums. Jaymie completed a diploma in Music in 2005.
And this brings us to where he's up to now. He now plays for bands around Sydney, does studio work, plays bass for albums and tutors bass.

Jaymie's favourite bass players are Victor Wooten, Nathan East, Abraham Laboriel, Stuart Zender, Nick Fyfe, Flea and many more. He enjoys all types of music including funk, jazz, top 40's, blues and rock. Jaymie's favourite band is Jamiroquai. He has a wicked slap bass technique, be sure to check out his solos!
