Yeah I recently gave up and cut them back, then I tried finger picking with my actual finger but my fingers hurt now and I don't get a very good tone (tommy emmanuel develope caluses on his fingertips for just such a purpose).

So you think if i keep wearing down my nails on the guitar strings, and when they grow back they will be stronger?

I really love your cover of sigur ros, you should do more. I was just wondering do you use your fingernails for picking or do you cut your nails and just use your fingers. I have been trying to use my fingernails but they keep chipping.
