thinker900:
I don't mean to be an ass or something, but it's kinda hard to believe that you would fight for the rights of animals when you eat McDonalds or KFC. I saw one of your comments on a video where you said: "I'm gonna eat a hamburger now" or something. No offense, but it's kinda hard to take you serious when you make statements like that. You can't really call yourself an animal lover and still eat KFC just because it tastes "good". If you really care about the lives of animals then quit eating meat or continue to eat meat and acknowledge that you don't give a damn about the suffering of animals. And don't say that we need the protein from meat because we don't. There are a lot of proteins found in vegetables, nuts, soy and other things. |

And one question how are meat eater like myself less intelligent and environmentally unaware then say a vegan? Why can't we fight against big oil or fight or alternative fuel sources? Or fight for the rainforests? Or even fight for some of the animal rights? Do our voices not count ? That's all I wanted to ask, I hope that you stay positive on my page. Later..PS I don't mind the "harsh true" as long as it is supported by both sides and with facts not bais.

Not to say that your knowingly supporting them, but it has been my experience that vegans and vegetarians lean on activist organizations like the ones to push their values onto others. Also, I heard about some people becoming vegan to fight GMO, but GMO also contributes to the genetic manipulation of plants also to reduce to use of pestocides. I mean it sounds good, but like meat from animals can't it also disrupt our genome too? PETA is a good organization and I never would say that it is completely bad, because I do agree with their anti-fur campaigns and the abuse of animals domestically or in labs.

Now, say we were to "free" all the oppressed animals in the industrialized slaughter houses. Where would they all go? Correct me if I'm wrong, but after several generations of gene modified they have probably lose most if not all instincts in which to live in the wild. It's not like they are humans that can learn to hunt and gather food without need for instinct. Who would take care of them? Certainly, not the members for PETA or ALF. I mean PETA is responsible for animal deaths as well and threats don't necessarily make people want to join the cause. Fear is a good tool, but is it relevent(sp)in every case.

I just started reading "Becoming Vegan" by authors Branda Davis, R.D. and Vesanto Melina M.S., R.D.. And it gave me the impression that 90% of the "scientist" they speak of already had their own bias view on meat products. I will continue to read however, in an effort to learn about the VEGAN lifestyle, though at this point I would be changing my mind on my current diet that include various meats. I have however, increased my intake on vegetable and other "organic" foods. But this is not all I have to say and I hope you take this better than other Vegans I've encountered online.
